  1. Sigh.

This is the last Batman related book I get for the Requiem tie-ins….Please don’t let this be too schmaltzy.

  2. i kind of want nightwing to just go off and do his own thing, i wasn’t a huge fan of last issue

  3. Nightwing has been hit or miss for the past few issues.

  4. ***SPOILERS*** – Ah, Tony Zucco, one of the most annoying continuity blackspots in the Batman books.

    Is he alive?
    Is he dead?
    Is he fat?
    Is he thin?
    Is he a criminal mastermind?
Is he a desperate Falcone family flunky?
    …Does anyone actually care?

For one reason or another, DC are just completely unable to decide the best way to portray the guy who killed Dick Grayson’s parents. Personally, his accidental death at the hands of Robin in ‘Dark Victory’ is enough for me. I can’t imagine him selling that many books anyway. Since ‘The Black Mirror’ Sofia has been a more interesting character than her Father ever was.

Obviously fans of ‘Year Three’ will be happy, but I doubt anybody else will care too much.

I’d like to see Dick talking to Damian’s grave more often though, it made good reading and it gives the reader a cool insight into his character.

  5. I’m giving this issue the benefit of the doubt. Yes it’s a mourning issue but Higgins put enough story WITHOUT Dick going all maudlin on us. The Dealer was a great character introduced by Scott Snyder and it’s nice that Higgins is keeping him around. The running joke of the chainsaw had me laughing in this issue. Also, much improved art by Ryp this week and the characters don’t look freaky. The inker isn’t doing much service for him though…

    4/5

  6. This was actually pretty good, I didn’t like the art all that much though.

I’m hoping with Dick headed to Chicago (if this is actually happening and I didn’t dream it) we’ll be getting less bat book crossovers, although I have to say out of all the books that crossed over for night of the owls and death of the family Higgins were probably the best.

  7. Love the writing but I couldn’t get past the artwork, I hope it gets better soon.

  8. What an awesome issue. When Grayson put the Xbox game next to Damian’s grave I almost broke down.
