But what’s brought HAMMERHEAD to town as well? JOHN ARCUDI (Wednesdays Comics) and ERIC CANETE (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) team up to bring you this hard hitting, two-fisted look at the seedier sides of the Marvel U as the original Hero for Hire gets back to work in NEW AVENGERS: LUKE CAGE!

  1. I will be honest… I have no idea who the writer is… But if Canete’s art is anything like his deadpool/spiderman issue i will be happy.

  2. I think I’m gonna pick this up. I love me some Luke Cage.

  3. I’ll buy anything with Luke Cage in it. It could be written by Michael Bay and penciled by Jim Davis and it would be my most anticipated book.

  4. Thanks Josh… Makes me want to read this even more!

  5. The creative team has both the iFanboy Seal of Approval as well as my own personal enjoyment of Eric Canete’s art…but, but…it’s a $3.99 mini! ARGH!

Must wait for trade, must wait for trade…

  6. John Acudi is probably my all time favorite Talksplode interviewee (and after typing that out, I realized Eric Canete gave my 2nd favorite Talksplode interview). What a dazzling conflagration of talent.

  7. Thought I’d pass, but then I saw it was Canete.

Love his Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin!

  8. Avatar photo Arrrggghhh (@Arrrggghhh) says:

Loving the sound of this team on Luke Cage.  Arcudi is possibly the most under-rated writer in the business. (Loved Major Bummer!) This should be a much different wildly fun Luke Cage than the more mild Bendis version we’ve seen the past few years. Canete’s artwork looks fantastic from the preview pages I’ve seen.

  9. I didn’t even know Canete was involved in this until I hit the store.  Definitely scooped it up.  I’m looking forward to reading it later today.

  10. Didn’t like Canete’s art at first but it grew on me. It looked Clint was sporting some Ron-style sideburns in one panel.

  11. Pretty cool. Not the greatest. But one of my favorite characters being written and drawn well is a plus. 4/5

  12. Really enjoyed this.
Canete’s artwork is fluid, showing great motion and energy . . . loved the fighting scenes.
If I could it’d give this a 4.5/5 . . . might be my pick of the week.

  13. Was greatly looking forward to reading this.  Flipped thru it at the LCS but quickly put it back on the shelf based on the artwork.  Seems I may be in the minority on this but I just really, really did not like Canete’s art.

  14. Really enjoyed this more than I thought I would. The art was great! Definitely works for a story like this.

  15. i enjoyed it.
