NAMOR FIRST MUTANT #1

Spinning out of the pages of X-MEN #1, comes an all-new series starring the world’s first mutant, NAMOR THE SUB-MARINER.

When the X-Men are confronted with a deadly vampire threat, Namor takes matters into his own hands on a mission that might bring down the entire might of the vampires on their heads…and in the process, destroy Atlantis! What lurks down below the ocean where the sun can’t reach? What he thought was a fable to scare the children of Atlantis comes to terrifying life in the form of a newly-discovered race of Atlantean Vampires. Namor’s choice, to stand with Atlantis or the X-Men, will define a new chapter in his life…or death.

  1. Olivetti Namor?  Might be worth a peek.

  2. Olivetti’s work on Space Ghost with Joe Kelly was great, I think this title is perfect for him, we’ll see.

  3. Is it just me, or is that cover vaguely Seige/Sentry-like? Damn that Void, it has scarred me forever!

  4.  I taught about it but no,,,I dont want to read about a underwater asshole,,,

  5. @JimBilly4 – Nah, it’s not the Void, it’s just something squiddy.

  6. Underwater asshole?  Water tight.  Deeeznutz!

  7. Finally, my favorite Marvel character has his own book again!  I hope this blows away all expectations, kicks ass, and becomes a hit.

    IMPERIUS REX!!!

    jeff.

  8. First mutant???  Wasn’t Apocalypse the world’s first mutant?

  9. @Rchapoteau – Namor: 1st published mutant.

  10. The title of first mutant gets traded back and forth depending on definition. I believe Apocalypse, Namor, Wolverine, Graymalkin, Professor X, Magneto, and Dr. Nemesis have all held the title at some point depending on definition and whim of the writer. I’m sure there have been others. I don’t think they are like vampires, getting more powerful with age. Then again, look at that list. Maybe they do. Mutants=Vampires? Someone should put together a new X-men series involving vamp– Oh, never mind.

  11. @jefffromWV – Namor is my favorite Marvel character too! Can’t wait for this!

  12. Vampire squid… nuff said.

I very much liked this book. Does very good groundwork for the curse of mutants as well as this this series when the storyline is over.

  14. Nice! Diamond didn’t ship this from the LA warehouse, so us West Coasters are out-of-luck.
