  1. This looks pretty cool!

  2. Strange Adventures and The Unexpected were pretty good. I got hopes for this one too.

  3. I’m loving these one-shots from Vertigo! It collects stuff we’ll never see normally collected and they all have been 5-star, worth the price of admission buys.

It’s a very slow week and if my shop has it (and they always do) I am definitely getting it.

  4. Turns out Paul Pope isn’t actually in this book. wtf Also the actual cover isn’t the Allred one posted all over the internet. But it is real nice nonetheless.

    • This totally threw me off. At first I couldn’t find the book because the cover was different. but… NO PAUL POPE! I didn’t know this until after I had bought it. That sucks since he was what I was most looking forward too, I LOVED his Adam Strange in Wednesday Comics, DC should get him to do an ongoing of that for the New 52.

Glad I bought it anyway, I read the first story on the train and it was really fun.

    • I missed this Wednesday but was going to buy this today, however if there is no Paul Pope I might just pass.

  5. There were a lot of alternate covers at my shop but the one shown here was being sold for $19. Huh? All the covers were very cool, so I’m not disapointed.

The stories are awesome! I loved every one of them. Each seems to take off from a cutting edge science idea that I’m familiar with by reading so much science nonfiction. This is what scifi is good for. To imagine what might happen when these ideas come to be reality.

  6. I think Pope tweeted something about missing the deadline for this, which is obviously a shame but you know his work is always worth the wait even if the wait is years ( I’m looking at you battling boy and total thb) what ever he was meant to bring to the table will come out eventually
Real sting is the Mike Allred cover (used in all the solicits up until about a week ago it seems) being a “retailer incentive” variant. As a borderline obsessive Allred completist I have got to twawl the rough waters of the internet to track this bad boy down ๐Ÿ™ won’t be able to sleep right until its mine.
