I just flat out don’t buy Earth Man’s character growth or Shady’s attachment to him.
All due respect to Paul Levitz, but this series is in desperate need of some exciting new creative direction. A book about superpowered teenagers a thousand years into the future (who actually have a purpose for having corny names) should be a book brimming with adventure and high-concept imagination. Out of all the DC titles, this one should have the least amount of conceptual restriction. LoSH is a book I always want to be great, but rarely ever is. At a glance the relaunch of this series looks like more of the same.
