  1. Funny I didn’t think of this before but technically Ivan Reis never left Aquaman. He’s gonna be on the team and this is an Aquaman-centric story. So it’ll be like he never left the book!

Also, I’m behind on the Captain Marvel back up but seeing anything by Gary Frank will make me not care if I’m a little lost in the story.

  2. This was a great issue-has more development on Superman and WonderWoman’s relationship. The Atlantean attack gave an epic feel to this book.Well worth it.

  3. After the good Chetah issues i get the feeling this book finally gets things started. relly good issue, good dialogue and character moments, combined with bombastic ivan reis art. good way to start the crossover.

  4. I have not been a big fan of the Justice League title since the New 52. This new story arc is probably going to change my opinion. Loved every second of this comic and the Aquaman comic!

  5. The issue was probably the best one since the reboot. Of course Johns has to add contrived conflict between the heroes in the Aquaman issue. BOOO!

  6. Loving Ivan Reis on this if we can’t have Jim Lee, that is. This crossover with Aquaman starts off nicely and the Shazam stuff in the back doesn’t hurt either. I can’t what til the whole Shazam saga is collected into one bit trade. Gary Frank art is just phenomenal.

  7. I dont usually do this but….. Reis>Lee.

  8. Ivan Reis blew the doors off on this one. He pulled out all the stops, as we all knew he would. What a great, great, great artist!

When that aircraft carrier smashed into the city, my jaw actually dropped. Stunning.

It has been a pleasure to watch Reis up his game with each subsequent assignment (from ‘Green Lantern: Secret Origin’ to ‘Blackest Night’ and from ‘Blackest Night to ‘Aquaman’) and now, with ‘Justice League’ I think we’re going to see his best work yet. The lad’s a genius.

Great start to the new event and the new regular penciller.

  9. This issue was fantastic. This title has jumped up to a whole new level. Seems like Geoff Johns is bringing his A game to this series now and that’s all for the better. Reis, in my opinion, is a better fit for this title then Lee was. Still not on board with the Superman/Wonder Woman relationship, but everything else seems to be going great. This makes me all the more excited for the future of the Justice League and also the new JLA series.

  10. Still loving the Shazam back-up. Looking forward to this new arc. Had fun with the last one!

  11. JL 5/5
    Shazam 5/5

    Amazing issue

  12. So I went back to read all the issues and catch-up. And Justice League #2 is the most hilariously bad thing I have ever read. Those Cyborg pages gave me tears.

I still chuckle when I think about it. Oh lordy lord!

  13. I love this cross-over! Doesn’t seem rushed or choppy. Very well written and gorgeous artwork.

  14. I’ve resisted urges over the past year to drop this title & it seems my patience is being rewarded. This issue sizzles with energy & enthusiasm. Earlier issues seem a little soulless in comparison.

I think it’s a good thing that Jim Lee is off this book.

  15. Best issue since the reboot. Ivan Reis is the greatest artist in modern superhero comics. Even Johns’ dialog seemed more exciting than it has been in a long while. I’m really looking forward to seeing where this goes. The stakes are already sky high.

Also, I dig Mera’s new costume. The scale unitard needed an update.

  16. I need more Shazam! I hope in the next wave they give him his own book, probably won’t happen though.

  17. Another awesome issue. Yeah, I really love Reis’ art. This story is really starting off with a bang! Or should I say a flood…. Can’t wait to see Shazam join the Justice League.
