JONAH HEX #63

Jonah Hex has dealt with some wicked, vile people in his time, but never has he met someone who managed to get under his skin quite like the bandit known as Loco. Most bounties don’t upset Hex, but this time, as they say, it’s personal. And a pivotal piece of Hex’s past is revealed in this special stand-alone story!

  1. Does the fact that the cover only says HEX make anyone else nervous that this is going to have something to do with that stupid Mad Max future/

  2. @sakuuya  No, DC is doing a cover theme is this month.

  3. Oh, thank goodness!

  4. I’m picking this up cause of the light week.

  5. I’m picking this up cause it will most likely be awesome!

  6. I’m picking this up because its on my pull list at my LCS

  7. I’m picking this up because it was such a good movie.

  8. I think I might be getting tired of the Jonah Hex formula. He’s becoming very predictable.

  9. I thought I was tired of it a bit too right around 51-54. It went away especially after a couple perfect issues in the last seven or so.

And when I reread those issues in trade, they were better then I remebered.

Loved the flashback and wasn’t quite able to figure out if it was somehow going to be the same guy from the flashback in the present. That kept me guessing and loved how the ending tied into the flashback.

    Two things I didn’t like:

the characterization of Hex’s father seemed a bit off. He wasn’t as mean as I recall him being in other issues.

Loco wasn’t scary enough and never put Jonah in any real jeopardy.

    4/5

  10. @FreezerBurn  It’s that predictability that endears me to the character.  I like reading a bad-ass in an old-western setting.
