  1. I’m interested in seeing how this will work with superheroes.

  2. This was one of the comics that grew on me….

1st Reading: “ehh, that was ok. I’m a bit tired of vampries.”

    couple of days pass……

2nd Reading: “Hmm, the writing here is pretty good. This is one fucked up love story. and the art is rad.

    Looking forward to this issue.

    • I had a similar reaction. The more I think about this story, the more intrigued I am by it. Really a sad tale … Kind of reminds me of Interview with a Vampire

  3. Like Voodoo this is on the bubble among the New 52 books I’m reading. Interested in the idea, curious where it goes, love the art. I just hope they’re done with caption boxes that are two different shades of pinkish-red.

    • Yeah -that was the only thing I didn’t enjoy in the first issue myself.

    • Glad it wasn’t just me. Sometimes I have problems with certain shades of red or green, especially with solid blocks that have no shading, and I figured that was just my slight color blindness kicking in until the guys mentioned it on the podcast.

    • yeah the two reds were difficult to distinguish. Classic case of “it looked better on the screen!” CMYK reds are tricky to get right especially when you are not there to press check.

  4. I also thought this was one of the surprises of the new 52! Liked the art very much and the story was just very deep and well told though out the first book. I can’t wait for tomorrow to get this, I also agree that adding this to the heroes of this DCU should be very intresting!

    Just sayin’,

  5. I didn’t expect to like this, so I didn’t buy it when I purchased the rest of my books. I did, however, read it in digital form later, and quite enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to seeing how this develops.

  6. This is either #5 or #6 in my ranking of the #1 issues of the New 52 (#5 is either this or Justice League Dark. I flip-flop daily). I was blown away by how good this book was, in art, character, and story. They told a lot in that one issue, and it was intense!

  7. One more issue. I liked what was happening in this issue, it was all very pretty and I like the world it looks like they’re setting up, but it’s moving so very slowly. If they don’t set the hook with #3, I’m going to stop grabbing it.

  8. I think I am going to trade wait this from this point forward. Or maybe wait the month for the price to drop digitally. It’s good, I liked it but it doesn’t make me feel like I want to read it right away. 4 star book for me.

  9. This book is kind of becoming MY book of the 52. The breezy, yet demanding, nature of the narrative is really clicking with me in the right way.

  10. This book is surprisingly great. I plan to stick with it.
