  1. Last issue was a bit too exposition heavy. Let’s hope the ball gets rolling here.

  2. @tnc wtf??? Do you even read the comic? You don’t seem to understand what is goig on… a bit too exposition heavy??? Its fucking magic at work… literally.

  3. Can’t wait to read this, I loved the last issue and this promises some more goodness

  4. A deal at 3 bucks.  One of the books that i can’t wait to start reading as soon as i get it.  Classic!

  5. Wow no one really seems to care about this book.

It was a good issue, but the pacing of it is starting to bug me. It’s moving way to slow for a 3 issue mini, especially if the next mini will take a full year to come out. Art was pretty amazing though.

    4/5

  6. I actually thought it moved relatively fast. SPOILERS We saw some significant plot movement (army coming to Hellboy), a nice chunk of backstory, and some pleasant action.  We also got to see Hellboy say "Crap" which is always cool.  I gave it a 5/5.

I agree that the art was exceptional.

  7. @stuclach: I think the backstories in this were good. Figuring out the Blood Queen motives is a good thing for this story. But Hellboy literally has gone from a small city, to probably a couple of miles outward into a small inn….and he STILL has no idea what to do in stopping the Queen.

  8. I think the only real problem with this mini has been that recap that took up so much of last issue. They touched on the same plot points as a review in Wild Hunt 1, so it really wasn’t necessary. Without that, the whole fight with the hedgehog soldier could have been resolved in issue 1, leaving more space for developement in this middle issue.

5 stars all the way though, and so far my POTW. I just really want some major stuff to happen next issue to leave me satisfied for the long wait for the next mini.

  9. EPIC.

  10. @TNC – Hellboy never knows what to do.  He just hits shit until it stops irritating him.  He is rudderless without someone to guide him.  He needs a Bruttenholm analog to nudge him in the right direction or else he just follows his instincts.

I can understand how that can be frustrating for readers, but I actually find it to be one of my favorite characteristics of the book.  He is just as confused and lost as I would be in the same situation (but he has a huge stone hand and Excalibur).

  11. Hellboy DOES know what to do he just doesn’t want to do it. I really connect with that trait of Hellboys personality: knowing there’s something you have to do or should be doing but you really just want to be left alone. When the S hits the F though he always gets it together and beats the crap out of some demons.
