  1. It’s exciting whenever a new Hellboy mini comes out. Although ‘Wild Hunt’ wasn’t the best thing ever, this still has the Blood Queen and (hopefully) an amazing battle coming our way. Can’t wait!

  2. Can’t believe this is already here! Hopefully all the pieces put in place last series will come into play. Fegreeeeeddoooo!!

  3. I just bought The Wild Hunt trade last week and it was the most fun I’ve had reading in a long while. Also, I wish Fegredo would draw Hellboy forever.

  4. OK place to start for a guy who has only seen the movies?

  5. I think you could give this a shot and if it tickles your fancy definitely pick up the trades; at least Darkness Calls and The Wild Hunt just to be current. I think the older stuff you could get later especially because the first movie does an OK job of explaining the origin.

  6. Hopefully not such a big break between this series and the next.

  7. The next one is called The Fury and I think it comes out next year (also three issues).

     I am extremely excited

  8. After reading the FCBD books for a few years and the Hellboy in Mexico story, I am on board for any Hellboy story

  9. Oh boy. I need to get caught up. I am like 3-4 series behind.

  10. @HailScott – Generally, the Hellboy books aren’t very continuity heavy, so you can really just pick up and read any series.  I think you will be fine jumping on here.  If you have any questions you can post them here and one of the fine iFanbase members will probably be able to help you out.

  11. @HailScott- Darkness Calls and Wild Hunt are parts 1 and 2 of this trilogy. Storm and Fury are both the third and final act in the overall arc. You should definitely jump on board with Hellboy, but to get a full understanding of things I highly recommend at least those other 2 trades.

  12. Cheap too, just 2.99….Hell yeah Boyeee!

  13. This had a bit too much exposition for my liking in this. Not a badly written issue mind you, just too much explaining from prior mini’s/one-shots. I know that’s expected in #1 issues, but we only have 3 issues of this! We need to get the ball rolling since ‘The Fury’ won’t come out till next year.

Still not a bad issue and the gorgeous artwork by Fegredo keeps this to be a solid:

    4/5

  14. @TheNextChampion, I just flipped through this and was bummed out by how much background is given, especially as someone who’s been read all the Hellboy miniseries. I just feel like Wild Hunt 1 touched on the same history and now its just being explained yet again. The third part of a trilogy really shouldnt have much of this, as it should be assumed that the readers have already read parts 1 and 2. Hopefully when I read the full issue it will seem a little more justified.

  15. Apparently I spoke too soon. This was great! 5/5

  16. Excellent.  I love where they are taking Hellboy.

  17. Funny how I think I commented a while back that I’m getting an ‘end is nigh’ feeling from Hellboy and there was a guy with a ‘The End is Nigh’ sign on his chest in this issue. 4/5 but I never get the full effect from his stories until they’re complete.

  18. I loved it, i’ve just posted a poorly written review but the point was my 5/5.

There are so many things yet to come into play: Edward Grey (Darkness Calls epilgoue suggested his future involvement), Grugach and his rejection from the queen of blood, Grugach quest for revenge on Hellboy, this war which should be quite epic and I’m sure there’s many more I’m failing to recollect.

  19. This is such an epic story, great to be back
