Two issues in and it is quickly becoming my favorite Hellboy story. I know some wanted nothing but punching from the get go but this slow burn and ‘haunting’ tone has really made this amazing to read.
The whole “slow burn and haunting tool” is such an effective way to introduce a vast and unknown place like Hell. I’m glad Mignola didn’t just have Hellboy swinging punches as soon as he was approached by a demon.
Some of the panels look truly amazing, but some just look lazy.
