  1. How come no one advertised this on here!? I completely forgot about it myself until I saw it on the shelf….so maybe it’s a forgettable book?

But once you pick it up I truly enjoyed the hell out of it. Fun story with loads of amazing ideas in it. You have a Mexican Frankenstein wrestler in this! What’s not to love!? Also, Richard Corben’s art is just to die for.

Great HC, and it was my POTW.

    5/5

    • i didnt know about it until i saw it on the shelves myself. i thought it was a reprint trade. the owner of the LCS had to fill me in cuz he knows i love the mignola stuff. kinda sux cuz thats 15 bucks i didnt expect to spend, but there are always sacrifices….

  2. So, you have a Frankenstein wrestler and Hellboy drinking it up in a bar and getting philosophical.
It screams Panel of the Week!
Or maybe it was the fastest 4-panel take out of a vampire lord? Sorry for this slight spoilerin’, but I just got my Corben fix and the hole in my soul where Hellboy tales go just got filled up. Joy! Oh yes!

  3. I woke up this morning and felt the same way as last night, so its my pick this week, even though I’m breaking a rule of mine (picking an OGN) . Corben, at 71, still has the chops. Sure, there are a couple of panels that looked a little rough, but who cares, this is a beautiful book. Corben still has the magic. I read the awesome Animal Man and, equally awesome, Swamp Thing before this one. It was like a Gordie Howe hat-trick of comicbook reading experience. Animal Man scored, Swampy assisted, and Hellboy fought. What a rush!

    • Corben is 71!? Holy hell I didn’t know that!

Also, if I had to pick a specific panel it would be the introduction of the creature. The way Corben lays out that panel with the completely dark room with the single light focusing on the creature really set the mood.

  4. is it me or did mexican frankenstein look like he had some huge tits in SOME of those panels?
