HELLBLAZER #300
It’s the heart-rending conclusion of “DEATH AND CIGARETTES”—and the end of Vertigo’s longest running series.
John Constantine has escaped, cheated, narrowly avoided and even reversed death on multiple occasions over the past 25 years. Now, we will test whether the old boy has one more second chance in him.
Don’t miss this epic, oversized special issue celebrating everything that makes John Constantine so bloody unique.

Farewell.
sigh
I hope there’s a back-up gallery at least. If any character deserves a proper eulogy, its JC.
There are no extras of any kind–just the story.
This better the POTW. It’s Josh this week and it’ll only be fitting.
I’d give you good odds on that. Plus the issue will probably be excellent.
boo
Really gonna miss this book. Though I kinda dig the fact that they’re not doing anything special here (oversized, gallery, prose, etc.)
John wouldn’t want any of that kinda shite.
Well, it is oversized.
Oh. Riiiight. I didn’t read the entire solicit. I assumed Conor’s comment included the size. Oh well. I’m not about to complain about more Hellblazer during the final lap.
The least DC could fucking do is keep it at its usual price considering they’re killing 300 issues of continuity just so they can shoehorn John into their failed abortion of a reboot.
The hell? Did they do what I think they did with those last couple of pages, or am I missing something?
What do you think they did?
Not 100% sure myself…
Do love the liquor cabinet though.
Spoiler, but I initially thought due to the new Constantine book coming out, Gemma’s syringe bullet transported him from the Hellblazer universe to the regular DC universe. But he’s supposed to be younger and in the last panel he’s still haggard looking. So I think my initial theory was off.
A fitting end. They wrapped things up quite nicely in my opinion. True to form, John kept me guessing up to the end (and beyond).
This is the end of the line for me. I won’t be following the hijinks of Constantine Lite.
I’ll see you in Hell, mate.
I’m not getting this end, but I’m fine with that. At least, he doesn’t end up in hell. Sad to see him go. Especially, because I don’t think there’s a big chance that we’ll see him again, HIM, the REAL JC. Oh, melancholy.
