HARBINGER #9

Nothing can bring her down. She’s the light in the dark. The soul of a rising resistance movement. Here now, for the first time, is the story of Zephyr (aka Faith…but shhh don’t tell anyone)! As danger closes in on all sides, Faith must begin the trials and tribulations of being the Valiant Universe’s first real-life superhero. Look, up in the air! It’s a bird, it’s a plane… it’s frakkin’ Zephyr!

  1. Can’t wait to read Faith’s back story. Of course that’s how I feel about Harbinger every month. Joshua Dysart is killing it with this book! I’m always saddened by how far down this series is in the weekly pulls. If you love great comics, you should be reading Harbinger.

  2. Loving BLOODSHOT as well. Can’t wait for the crossover.

  3. It’s a shame there are no ifanboys reading this book. This was another fantastic character study. They are knocking it out of the park on this book.

  4. “My name’s Zephyr. I’m a Super-hero.” YES! So good! I’m loving these characters, especially Faith. Dysart has really given everyone unique and individual voices.

I’m looking forward to the cross-over with Bloodshot(also great).

  5. I am SO ready for this book to have a full-time artist again. This issue missed the mark for me. The art was too vanilla, and most of the preset-day action was off (mostly the dialogue). Faith’s story saves the book. The way she sees the world through her parents’ long box lenses brings up tons of different emotions on many layers and it was funny to see the disconnect between her memory and reality. Her story is sad one like the rest of the book’s characters. I said it early on though, that I will be disappointed if Peter doesn’t stay the book’s focus, because I felt that the original series suffered when Faith took the lead.
