  1. BBBBBBRRRRAAAAAHHH! Alright boiiiiii, I’s reckon that Hal Jordan you gonna DIE! Knowhumsayin!

  2. The Black Hand needs to kill somebody in this comic. Shit needs to start getting real

  3. At least one of them will be trapped in the Book of Black and it is mostlikely Sinestro since in his vision Hal dies. Hal won’t stay dead long if he would even been dead. or Sinestro dies and his actual ring goes to the Arab GL.

  4. Johns. Mahnke. Black Hand.
    fuck yeah.

  5. I think this book has been kicking ass lately, and is as cool and fun as it’s ever been. Johns is doing a great job here, a very good job on Aquaman, very good job on Shazam’s back-up, but JL has been really up and down for me. I seem to like the issues Jim Lee doesn’t draw the best for some reason. But Doug Mahnke, I have always loved his work. JL Elite was great.

  6. Renato Guedes & Jim Calafiore? What the…hey.

  7. This issue was wild. Just like the epic Johns Green Lantern I remember pre-New 52.

  8. Is this artist swap gonna be a permanent thing? Because I am NOT cool with that.

Guedes’ pages were decent, but Calafiore’s were nasty.

Good issue though. Johns has a talent for tease like none other.

  9. Not thrilled with the art, but the writing was great, probably the best of the current run.

  10. Oh, and for some reason the coloring of my copy’s cover is very muted compared to the cover depicted here.

  11. Oh OH – and it bothered me how Sinestro had the book of the Black with him when he left the house, then the book was back in the house for Black Hand to read. That threw me out of the story for a few minutes.

  12. I’m really getting pumped for this upcoming story. I actually said aloud “Ganthet, you bastard!” whilst reading and then had to explain to my girlfriend why I was so angry at him.

I reckon Hal’s gonna buy the farm in the GL annual and be replaced by whoever it is that we’ve seen on the cover of ‘Issue 0’, in the Free Comic Book Day ‘New 52’ one shot and in the vision seen in the previous issue of GL. What do you guys think?

Anyway, I’m really looking forward to it. This issue missed out on a 5/5 because the artwork was inconsistent and I’ve been spoiled by Doug Mahnke’s flawless 20 page masterpieces over the last 10 issues or so…

  13. Mahnke is so underrated. The quality of the book really suffers when he’s absent.

  14. The issue is more of a setup for the Annual, so there is not a lot of story per se, but the revelations in the book of the black and the Guardians’ plans make of this one worthy of your time.

  15. This book has seemed slow to me. Now with these last two issues it’s finally picking up speed. The cliffhanger is great and I can’t wait for the annual!
