Mind-wiping is becoming a habit for Zatanna it looks like, I think it’s being taken for granted.
I hate giving bad reviews but I was so disappointed in this issue of GCS. I have been a big fan of this title, but this issue… well it just wasn’t enjoyable at all. The main reason being that Zatanna is portrayed completely wrong. She has already learned the consequences of messing with peoples memories and she knows nothing good can come from it. There was even a revelation in Paul Dini’s newest Zatanna issue about her own mind being wiped when she was a child. And because this issue was all about her fighting with herself regarding if a mind wipe of Catwoman (again) is right or wrong, it just doesn’t fit the character. She just wouldn’t do it. It felt like 3 steps backwards.
