  1. Lobdell? Silver-age artist George Tuska? Gambit? Champions? lost story? this is going to be good for some laughs.

  2. Gambit, Iceman, and Angel are honestly my favorite X-Men. Hopefully this will be descent

  3. AKA The least likely book, since DC Retroactive: Green Lantern-The 90s, the conor will buy.

  4. So I guess that when George Tuska plotted and drew this story that extra guy wasn’t really Gambit, but we’ll never know who he was supposed to be? And now the headliner for the story is Gambit, who probably wasn’t really in the story at all… Interesting!

    • the guy is shown throwing energized cards, and later being able to energize and throw other objects, plus being a thief. So if it wasn’t about Gambit they got very very lucky, It must have been written after Gambit was made in the 90’s maybe as a flashback issue, like the month marvel did all those #-1 issues.

    • I was intrigued by how he was illustrated; he doesn’t appear in any recognizable costume. And Gambit wasn’t contemporaneous with the Champions. By the time he came on the scene the Champions had broken up and the members had moved on to the Defenders and the Avengers and perhaps the Soviet super team. So I suspect that there wouldn’t have been a story placing those characters together. Very strange.
