  1. I hope this is fun. YO JOE!

  2. Picked it up as an impulse buy. (also because it was Baroness on the cover, lol)

  3. I have been a GI Joe fan since the beginning. It pains me to say this issue kind of sucks. The art is bad. The artist definitely can’t draw guns. The story is campy. The last series was so good. This is kind of a follow up to it I guess. I don’t see Joe fans liking this. If the art was better and they didn’t dress like bad 90’s superheroes it might not be terrible.

    • It was definitely a step down. It was more like a cartoon story. There were a couple of painful lines in it as well.

I don’t hate the premise, but the execution was off. Some pages had tons of dialogue, some had next to none. And the art was just plain – I liked Kurth’s crazy artwork way back on the first Devil’s Due Joe books better.

  4. I really have never enjoyed any of the Joe series since the 80’s Marvel series. I’ve tried several if them over years but just could not get into them. Personally I really enjoyed this issue. Yes, the art left something to be desired, but the storyline has definitely hooked me in. Cannot wait for issue two!!
