  1. The preview page made a Montell Jordan song get stuck in my head. Now I want it stuck in everyone else’s:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZwcNu1xg_A

Also this is first place outside of The Big Bang Theory to use Twitter in its story.

  2. haha, I cracked up too when I read the title of the issue!!  I kept repeating that hook in my head for a full 10 minutes!  Damn I miss the 90’s.

I’m still on the wall about this.  I don’t want to pick up a new mini…but 1)it’s Joe Casy 2)it’s the Super Young Team and 3) I need more dance in my life

  3. Am I the only one who’s missed ChrisCross?

  4. @magnum240-They used to make me jump jump, not so much any more though

  5. @drakedangerz- i know you’re kidding, but i’ve decided to read this book wearing my clothes backwards on Wednesday

  6. @magnum240-I’ll meet you halfway and wear my underpants backwords.

  7. @Heroville Actually, didn’t Armor use twitter in the pages of Astonishing X-Men over a year ago? Like the first or second issue of Ellis’s run?

    @magnum Probably.

I was burned by Run, which people seemed to love, and avoided Escape like the plague. Still I’m interested in Super Young Team and am interested to see where Joe Casey (I love his stuff) takes this. I hope this is worth my investment.

  8. @drake  excellent!  Can i talk you into a backwards hat?

@prax  I loved him on Captain Marvel with Peter David.  Also, you’re not alone, Run was awful.

  9. @PraxJarvin I wouldn’t know I never picked up Astonishing this is the first time I’ve seen Tweets or reference to Twitter in ficition except for Big Bang Theory

  10. I’m very excited for this!!! Its written by Joe Casey who i’ve kind of seen as a sorta "Grant Morrison lite" and not to mention the arts by Chirscross!!!

  11. Considering that Twitter is dying off, it’s the historically accurate time for it to start showing up in major media.

  12. I’m looking forward to this. If your a fan of Casey’s work, check out CHARLATAN BALL which is really awesome.

  13. @kthx Ummm… is it? I don’t think so, at least not in my neck of the woods.

  14. @Kthx: Twitter is growing, actually.

  15. I also wouldn’t consider a DC spinoff book to be major media.  But Oprah mentioned it a month ago, and twitter’s probably bigger than ever.

  16. no, he means Twitter should die. hopely in the most horrible fashion available, maybe Deni Moore’s head explodes when she’s on it. or something

  17. @edward Yawn… Outdated jokes about outdated celebs with outmoded ideas about stuff to do on the internet. You’re about as modern as Ernest Hemingway… and far less interesting!

Decent issue, nothing stellar. I’m not sure I’m hooked on this mini yet, I may give it another issue. I want to like this book, but it’s just so blah. I also felt like the character’s contradict themselves alot and I’m not sure that’s on purpose. The art was all right, nothing amazing. 3/5 from me.

  18. I too wanted to like this book.  I even played Montel Jordan on my ipod while reading this, but it really didn’t do much for me.  Had some hilarious parts, and I love the idea of zany Japanese heroes, but didn’t hold my interest.  I be dropping it like its hot.  (unless the next issue has an equally assume title)

  19. This issue blew me away– far better than I had expected, and easily my pick of the week.  I’m on for the series, Joe Kelly!

  20. It wasn’t as great as I wanted it to be, but it had a really strong voice and a unique sense of identity. It’s interesting to read this and Dark Reign: Young Avengers at the same time. Very different series, but they both have a main character who really wants to be good, but is being held back by things out of his control. I find that interesting for some reason. Don’t quite know why.

  21. I think Prax just called me an arsehole? did anyone else see that?

this was a nice reminder of the Peter David Captain Marvel series, i love Criscross

  22. I thought this issue was super cool.  This book could go to some really interesting places.

Also, yes, any technology receives the kiss of death when mainstream media picks up on it.  Twitter is everywhere, so that means it’s time for something to come along and replace.  The life cycles of social phenomena are getting ever shorter.
