  1. I guess I’m reading this book now. 🙂

  2. 22 pages of awesome incoming.

  3. So this has to be either a Reed or Johnny story now that Ben and Sue have had their moments

  4. Reed’s story was the first arc wasn’t it?

  5. Is this a good jumping on point?

  6. I thought the first story was more of a ben moment at the end. it seems like these are team stories until the very end and someone does something cool or heroic like ben did when he saved those kids in the first story

  7. @Onic: I’d say yes.

  8. @Onic: Well, it’s part three of the arc, but they’ve all been one shot stories (that one assumes will culminate in the end) so I say you can probably give it a go.

  9. @conner: I don’t think Prime Elements is leading to a culmination. These stories feel more like set up for stories and events in later arcs.

  10. I think I am jumping on too.

  11. I encourage everyone who is curious about this to get on-board.  I’ve liked all of the Hickman run so far, even the issues without Eaglesham that many people didn’t seem to enjoy.

  12. F4 and the Inhumans! I love it any comic that little bit more whenever Black Bolt turns up.

  13. The last issue didn’t really work for me, even though I respected the creators for trying something so ambitious. Never been a fan of the FF until Hickman took over so Im sticking with it for the foreseeable future.

  14. @USPUNX: I didn’t say *when* the culmination would happen. But clearly it will at some point.

  15. Everything about the FF is working right now.  Hickman and Eaglesham are one of those classic teams that are just made for each other.

  16. Sometimes, Hickman makes me feel dumb, but I like it.

  17. It is such a delight to be excited for this book every month!

  18. this book is really genius

@onic i would say since its a series of one shots it would be good to jump on, but as Connor said they are building to something, so if you like it you may want to go back and grab the last two issues.

  19. When a really great team shows up on a title and does really great work, it makes me wonder whether that title is for me.

Turns out, the FF, like Spider-Man, aren’t for me. 🙁

  20. @Diabhol: That happened to me with Detective Comics.

  21. Love this book.  Anyone know when Hickman’s Shield mini is coming out?

  22. @kmob  It comes out in April. I had no idea Hickman was writing it but that makes since with Secret Warriors. I was pretty sure I was going to pick it up, now I know I will.

  23. I’ve been down on this the last few months, but i thought this issue was strong.

  24. @Alan – Many thanks.  Between that and Thanos Imperative I’m pretty stoked for Marvel’s summer.

  25. Uhm, what the hell did I just read?

  26. Pure fucking genius.

  27. @JumpingJupiter-*spoiler**spoiler**spoiler* That there are many "breeds" of Inhumans and that Black Bolt’s going to be back from the Fault and that he’s going to conquer the fucking Galaxy and Earth will be the new Hala for the Universal Inhumans and the (soon to be mutated???)Kree. If you’re like me and reading the DnA cosmic shit, you’re cuming in your shorts and can’t wait for the fucking Thanos Imperative.

  28. I thought this has been the most enjoyable issue in a few months. Still not enjoying the palm pilots, but at least with this issue plot developments weren’t finished up there. Quite enjoyable, this issue. 5/5 for me. I did enjoy the cute little reference to MOON in the book.

  29. @prax- yeah, the Helium 3 reference made me smile. MOON is such an amazing flick. Rockwell’s perfomance and the Clint Mansell’s soundtrack are mind blowing. I can’t wait for Duncan Jone’s next movie.

  30. This was nothing like what I expected.  Mixed feelings.

  31. the art was amazing, but wow, im 26 years old and i’d like to consider my self fairly intelligent but reading this issue made me feel dumb…

  32. Hickman has really brought a sense of wonder to every issue of FF.   "Let’s go to the moon!"…in many books they would downplay how amazing that is, but somehow Hickman makes it fresh and awe-inspiring.

And wow, Eaglesham sure made Sue look really hot in that panel when she learned to float!  Reed, you lucky b@stard.

Just to give a minority opinion, I love the Palm Pilot.  I like that there is so much story that the writer gives us "extra pages" with the Palm Pilot notes.  It’s like the FF are so mind-boggling they don’t fit in 22 pages.

  33. I have no friggin’ clue what’s going on, but I’m enjoyin myself.

  34. So Hickman knows that Black Bolt it "dead" right?  I’m going to be really mad if the Inhuman Royal family show up in this book as they used to be and not as they currently are re: Realm of Kings:Inhumans.

Still like the book though, maybe this will lead to Black Bolt’s resurrect.

  35. NOM NOM NOM. I’m eating this shit up. Never saw myself reading FF but I’m so excited to read it everytime it comes out. My unread Pax Romana trade stares at me while I sleep. I can feel it.

  36. This issue read like it was written by the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from ATHF.

  37. Now officially my favorite Marvel monthly.  I can see why this isn’t for everyone but for me this is exactly what FF should be all about and is really stretching the limits of the genre (in an awesome way).

@rockingeek – totally with you.  Between this and DnA its a great time to be a Cosmic fan.  Coincidentally I just found the last issue I was missing from the Starlin Captain Marvel run so I’ll be reading that and Warlock in preparation for the Thanos Imperative.

  38.  WHAT JUST HAPPENED

     @leonard: HAHA YES

  39. Took the suggestion and just read this and the two previous issues.  I’m a bit lost but thoroughly enjoyed it.  The art blows me away.

  40. this was 22 pages of stupid sounding words

  41. @kmob181-The only issue of Warlock I have is the vol.2 no.1 reprinting the Strange Tales #178, 179 and 180 and the  Warlock special edition #1. You’re lucky.

  42. @rockingeek – it took a long time to get them all but with some shrewd dealing they can be had for pretty cheap.  the starlin captain marvel stuff is also available in trade.

  43. Spoilers

@mrwrong basically what set this up was Franklin from the future showed up and told val there was going to be a war between four cities so these on shots have been showing the four cities, so in two issues I think the proverbial shot will be hitting the fan.

  44. I think I’ll have to give this a shot.  I just read Amazing Spider-man 24/7 trade paperback and thoroughly enjoyed the FF arc.   I’m also slowly but surely reading the old Lee/Kirby masterworks collections. I think I’m fiending for some current fantastic four.  Without going back too terribly far what issues or trades would anyone recommend I pick up?

  45. @jwaesch in a perfect world start at 570

the cheapest answer is 575 but starting at 570 is a good spot (plus if you have iphone or pad 570 is free with the new marvel app)

  46. @jwaesch – John Byrne may be a dried up cranky old misanthropic fart now, but his 2nd main run on FF (232 and upwards to something like 291) was/is pure gold.

I liked Simonson’s run immediately following, but your mileage may vary.

Hickman’s current run is better than anything that happened after Simonson, imho, and that includes the most recent Millar/Hitch which I enjoyed.

  47. @urthona and @PeterParker:  Thanks!  I look forward to jumping on board and catching up a bit.
