Featuring guest Art by acclaimed illustrator Jock (THE LOSERS, GREEN ARROW: YEAR ONE)!

And in the co-feature, the Huntress and The Question find themselves in over their heads as a gunrunning case leads them to the business end of a double-barrel shotgun!

  1. mmmm …

  2. JH Williams really didn’t put in as much effort on the cover as he did for his own issues did he?

I’ll probably pick it up, but Williams was the big draw. How long does this arc last?

  3. @MacAoidh

This last through 863 (March) then Rucka and Batwoman leave, David Hine takes over in April, this becomes a Batman book, and supposedly that arc will be building on the stuff from BftC: Arkham Asylum and Arkham Reborn.  The co-feature is apparently staying in tact.

  4. Jock is one of the few artists I would trust to follow Williams. Looking forward to this.

  5. I don’t have much experience with Jock.  His covers are generally nice.  I’m looking forward to this.

  6. I see this might be a Bruce-Kate teamup? (yellow symbol, gloves) I like that.

  7. I’ve never seen Jock interiors. What books has he worked on?

  8. The Losers. Faker.

  9. Green Arrow: Year One

    Upcoming Hellblazer OGN. Me wantsssss!!!

  10. Jock, Jock, Jock, Jock!!!!!!

  11. Hopefully we can switch gears from JH to Jock better than we did for Quitely to Tan. I think the leap here is much smaller, although Jock has a fairly different style. And JH was truly sublime. No one can really follow him.

  12. I’m not a huge Jock fan, but he’s a solid artist. I like this cover, despite the yellow bat on the chest. So looking forward to this.

  13. Oh yeaaaaaaah… I didn’t even notice the yellow bat circle, but now that you mention it, I can’t focus on anything else. Looks great, though.

  14. I am more stoked about Batman & Robin #7 but I am definitely getting this also!

  15. JOCK!

  16. @Cooper

    I agree 100%. Can’t wait.

  17. I don’t think I have ever read anything drawn by Jock but I am looking forward to this as a nice little introduction to him.  He sure has a tough act to follow.

  18. I was worried about JH leaving, but Jock is a great choice. Hie variant cover looks great. Anyone nervous should check out Loser (I think a new edition is out this week) or Green Arrow. He’s different JH but still a great artist.

Plus this is three months lead time for JH to get going on the solo Batwoman title. That can’t come soon enough.

  19. Nice.  It felt like it went by really fast.

  20. A solid issue, with great art on Jock’s part. There was a great sense of continuity between JHWIII and Jock’s styles. That said, I felt like Rucka delivered a disjointed script that I felt a little lost in. By no means bad, but it was a straightforward story, so I shouldn’t feel like that. Still, a 4/5 and my favorite Bat-book going.

  21. I haven’t been enjoying this book nearly as much as everyone else (or at all, really…been giving it 2’s and 3’s) but this was a solid issue.  I don’t know if it’s just that I miss Bruce or if he’s just a freaking amazing character, but every time he shows up in a book here lately, I’m pumped up for it.

Ah, let’s face it, it’s because he’s amazing.

  22. That first page is excellent. I really like Jock’s style.

  23. Either my store didn’t get this book or they all sold out. Weird.

  24. Nah, not Jock, so much. JH is nearly impossible to follow, I’ll grant you that.

  25. First exposure to Jock…me likey.

  26. JH is always spot on and Jock isn’t on some angles. Didn’t enjoy it as much.

  27. This was my first experience with Jock’s art as well.  I did not like this. The faces and several scenes were really bad.  I just don’t vibe with this and if it weren’t for the writing and the character, I’d drop this.  I’m sure I’m in the minority here, but this just didn’t do it for me.

  28. Not as strong as JH Williams brilliance, but still my POTW. Awesome to see the real Batman back in a comic book written by Rucka!!!!! This made me smile.

  29. And.. like last run.. dropped on first issue.

Ugh! Just not for me, maybe. I hate myself..even more.

  30. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Rawer than JH but not as stylistic. Great changeup. Wish they could alternate every arc. Hmmm, this or Chew for POTW….
