All three artist on this book have done work I have enjoyed in the past, Kyle Higgins is a blank slate, could this be the real dark horse of the 52? I have heard no buzz on this book but there is to much talent involved to pass up.
Didn’t Higgins script Batman Gates of Gotham?
he did indeed
I hope I don’t regret pulling this.
Hope I enjoy this one…I added it to my pull list strictly for the Biz covers.
I really want this to be good not because I have an interest in Deathstroke but because Kyle Higgins is writing Nightwing and I need to know if he is a good writer or not. *fingers crossed*
To me, Kyle Higgins proved himself with the Batman Gates of Gotham series, so I’m absolutely expecting great things here.
Batman: GoG was a good series, but Higgins also had Synder riding shotgun with him on that mini…so let’s see how he fares flying solo.
Good point, good point.
Love this character and have been really looking forward to this title. PLEASE let it deliver.
Totally agree
Every time I’ve read Slade I’ve wondered why DC hasn’t done more with him.
Honestly they had my $2.99 with the Bis cover alone on #1 (wait…the guy’s carrying a honking huge sword?? – I’m in…)
That said, really hoping this book finally nails the character and is worth sticking with every month
I’ve read disappointing Deathstroke books before, so I’m not getting my hopes up, but he is a great character.
In a last ditch effort in wanting to pull this….can someone sell me on this title or point me to a review/pics/interview?
I have heard the writer say that the first few issues will be self contained, so think of this first issue as a one shot and give it a try.
I already picked up detective comics #1, planning on getting the mainstay bats title just to see which i like more. I’ve always liked characters that can go toe-to-toe with bats so i’m gonna give this a try. But these three + nightwing will be my only new 52’s as of right now.
LETS DO THIS!!
Just sayin’,

I want this title to work. I like the character and covers are killer and the artwork inside is okay too. I beileve this character can really make a name for himself when he is given to some good writers and artists.
In the 90s Deathstroke’s book was a really hot title early on. He’s a great character to introduce to new audiences.
What a blatant Deadpool ripoff.
Seriously?
Deathstroke was around eleven years before Deadpool ever hit the scene.
I really like Deathstroke and this was a good start for a new run. Probably gonna be a monthly read for me.
Glad to see Slade return to being one ruthless son of a bitch.
This book rocked. I honestly only picked it up for the Simon Bisley cover (I’m a huge fan of all the Verotik work he did back in the 90’s). I knew who Slade was coming into this issue, from some old Batman and Batgirl trades I picked up…but this totally upped his baddassness to a new level. Definately adding this to my monthly pull list. 😉
Good solid book but not a 5 star. Depending on what comes out the next two weeks this might be a book I’ll read.
I enjoyed this a lot.
Had he not killed the Alpha Dawgs I might have contiued with it. They made me laugh. It was a fun enough read, but the Bisley covers really make me want him to do the interiors.
He killed the Alpha Dawgs? I’m the opposite of you – I’d stopped reading it because they annoyed me so much, I’ll give it another go now.
Loved him killing those little shits!! Slade needs no one!! 4 almost a 5 for sure!! Was dark fun and well Sladeinesss!!
Just sayin’,
