Comic Books

A powerful and mysterious supervillain has imprisoned the world’s greatest superheroes, forcing them to fight to the death until there is but one victor. It’s kill or be killed as we settle the score on all those hypothetical superhero match-ups in the ultimate DEATHMATCH.

Written by industry legend Paul Jenkins (SENTRY, INHUMANS) and drawn by comics superstar Carlos Magno (PLANET OF THE APES, TRANSFORMERS), DEATHMATCH is a dark, psychological deconstruction of the superhero genre that can’t be missed.

  1. The first issue is interesting enough and the art is solid, but I think it may be a bit early yet to make a judgement about the title.

  2. Is this series always going to be priced at the 1 dollar point or is that just for the first issue?

    • It goes up to $4 with the next issue – so it better be damn good. My store didn’t have this but I would definitely pick it up for a buck – not so sure about issue 2.

  3. This is the kind of book I really enjoy. I loved the characters and the art. I also found myself researching the characters. Bleeding Cool did a series of profiles on all the characters, so it was fun reading the backstory while reviewing the first issue. Really looking forward to this. Also, 2 perish in the first issue!

  4. This is cool so far. It’s just different enough but stil relying on familiar territory. I think Magno’s art is fantastic. He did a great job on the Planet of the Apes ongoing before this.
