DEADPOOL #41

“Institutionalized,” Part 2

Surprising to no one but himself, Deadpool has found himself locked up in the psych unit of Crossmore Prison. Will therapy help Deadpool finally fix the loose wires in his head, or will the stress of incarceration drive him to a whole new level of craziness? Oh, and speaking of crazy…guess who else is locked up in Crossmore? Here’s a hint – his name rhymes with “pool killer”. Which, coincidentally, is a pretty accurate description of what he intends to do.

  1. Nice cover. Does the brain have a hidden message? It looks like it spells something but I can’t tell.

This might be the penultimate issue for me. It’s really not as good as it used to be and this storyline isn’t doing it for me. Plus the ‘Evil Deadpool’ future doesn’t look too promising either.

  2. The brain says “WADE”.  I’m not sure there is any more to it than that!

I know what you mean about this losing steam.  I love Deadpool but sadly this is really starting to wane.  Maybe it’ll get a 50th issue ending or something.  I’m not sure what the sales are like?

  3. I don’t think it needs to be canned, but I do think they should can Way. When they launched this book during SI, I was weary with him on it, but he actually turned to be a good fit.

Ever since Age of Heroes though, it just seems like Way has no real direction on the book and is just trying to write whatever zany adventure comes his mind first. And the more he writes the character Deadpool, the less it seems that he has a good grasp on the character.

I vote get either Remender, Williams, or Hastings a shot at this book because they all seem to have a good idea on how to write Wade

  4. I came in here for answers as to if this book is even worth continuing to pick up and i think ive found my answer from some of your comments haha

I picked up my first issue with the first part of this arc and it wasnt as good as i was expecting guess i should just hold off?

  5. The series pretty much ended for me with the Ghost Rider issue. With the Macho Gomez first appearence being the only thing I truly liked since that issue.

  6. I like Way showing us a more ‘cured’ Deadpool. But everything else about this from the story to the art is pretty bland.

    2/5
