I picked up the trade for this years ago, when I was first discovering crime noir. If you like good, pulpy style action and a Shadow-esque take on the Bat, definitely pick this up.
I am so gonna get this if my LCS has a copy (forgot it was coming out so I didn’t pull it).
That and I can get the DC Presents: Dark Knight, Dark City reprint I’ve stashed in my pullbin too.
WoW! can’t go wrong with a creative team and concept like that! God i hope i can find a copy this week
This book is full of awesome. You won’t be dissapointed if you are a Noir Burbaker/Phillips fan.
So is the main story in here new or a reprint? Either way, this looks too cool not to get!
This is a reprint of an excellent Elseworlds tale from the early 2000s I believe (I’m probably wrong on that front). Either way, it’s majorly excellent, and I reccommend it to all.
loved the idea of this since Conor featured it on a Vault show. so happy it hit as one of these Presents books.
I can’t wait to read this. I’ve been meaning to get thsi for such a long time, but had decided not to overpay (it was out of print). Finally!
Wasn’t this meant to be read horizontally? I wonder if the reprint will be like that.
@davidtobin100 Oh wow, I totally mixed the two up. lol My shop didn’t get this though so maybe another time.
@AmirCat …..I’ll get back to you on that answer.
So was Batman real or in his mind?
SPOILERS
@AmirCat I think Batman in this story was imagined by Gordon. Dent created the rumour of Batman though. If you reread it, it totally works.
@RapidEyeMovement – yeah it makes sense … I went back and read it and you realize Batman doesn’t do shit throughout the comic. This was such a treat.
