  1. Mark Waid has gotten really lucky with all of the artists that have worked on with this series. They all match the same style of Rivera/Martin and they all have at least been a 4 star effort. I was worried about Samnee because his style is nothing like the others who came before. But the preview on CBR really made those worries go away.

  2. Can’t wait for this. Here’s hoping Samnee is one for more than just a handful of issues. It’d be nice if Marvel could say that he and Rivera were the “regular artists”.

  3. Avatar photo 36crazymet (@themikeylamb) says:

I hope Marvel will make this cover into a poster.

  4. Definitely one of the best series out right now. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this will most likely be great.

  5. welcome samnee. i’ve been awaiting your arrival.
better put on your shades cuz the future looks bright.

  6. It’s like, as soon as I discovered Chris Samnee and his brilliance, he’s popping up in all my favorite books. Gotta love that Kismet.

  7. This is my favorite cover yet. It’s been the lock screen on my phone for months (appropriate, yes?). Can’t wait for some Samnee Daredevil.

  8. Sexy ass cover!! Wow, the covers on DD’s issues have all easily been up for some of the best covers of the year. Last issue was not one of my favorites story wise but not one that I hated either; it was just there and could have done without it and hope this issue puts us back on track.

  9. Geeze, does this come out weekly now? Not that that’s a bad thing since I’m down to only two Marvel books.

  10. Wow!

Boobs are amazing even when you just kind of ‘hear’ them with some sorta super radar …

  11. Dear Marvel,

    Please make Waid’s Daredevil weekly.

    Sincerely,

    Kmanifesto

  12. SAMNEEEEE!!!!!!

  13. I missed 8 and 9 of Daredevil and am waiting on Avenging Spider-man #6 before I read the Omega Effect. Am I good to just pick up Daredevil 10.1 and jump right back in? Or is it absolutely necessary for me to get my hands on #9? I know 8 was a 2 parter with ASM but just need to know if DD 9 was necessary or not if I have 10.

  14. Not a big fan of Chris Samnee, I want Rivera back! 🙁

  15. Hearing boobs and tasting every grain of salt, some how I am only hearing what I want to hear!!
Hell Yeah!! Read the preview over at CBR and the part where she shows off her bra and he snaps his pencil made me laugh. I know no one knows DD can’t see and then really Matt can’t so his sense really do not play to his advantage however; after all of those comments we all must realize women probably wish we were all blind. Hightened senses!! Need I say more….Go DD

  16. Bring on Allred!!!

  17. Everytime I pass this cover I can’t help stop and have fantasies, just so hot; a great image to have burned into the back of the brain.

  18. Such a good issue! Best one yet??

  19. I can’t tell you how much I love flashbacks to Matt’s past. This one was pretty badass. It’s also really awesome to see Matt making some headway with the total babe Kirsten McDuffy. Daredevil by Waid just keeps getting better.. and it started out incredible so that’s saying something.

    • Also I really love that the art in this entire Daredevil run has had that matte look. No shininess, no fancy shading.. Just awesome colors done well

  20. Another wonderful character-driven issue by Waid & co.

  21. And that, my friends, is why Waid is a legend.

  22. In the panel where Spider-Man asked if the date was with Black Cat I laughed out loud

  23. Between here and the POW article by Josh, you guys have pretty much covered my thoughts already. So, I’d like to say “ditto” to all the positive comments, and I respectfully disagree with anyone citing faults.

  24. I enjoyed the issue a lot…BUT…I am having a serious problem both budget wise and when I think of the now Disney owned Marvel business practice I am watching occur. It’s actually affecting the enjoyment I get from my comics. In the 90’s many of us became disenchanted with the comics industry because of the “Age of The Gimmick”, with multi-covers, die-cuts, holographic, and limited editions. That cost the market both customers and sadly businesses. I feel that we are staring the bull in the eye again. Alternate covers, Retailer incentives, .1 issues, constant reboots and ‘reorigins’, digital combo pacs with poly bags, and now double..triple..and quadruple issues in one month that tie into other events with two or three titles each to go with said event. It’s gotten out of hand again! I’ve stopped buying non self-contained events completely, I have given DC some leeway with the crossovers because of the reboot, but really…

I have watched two LCBS close shop in the past year. Mainly due to the fact that people have stopped buying and it’s openly stated it is because they can’t afford to. The economy sucks. We get that. Instead of trying to gimmick your way out of deficits, cut back on the titles, create a stronger following on consistent and better produced product, be consistent with pricing and the amount you put out (let alone when) and maybe the spiral can stop. I know for a fact that I am not the only feeling this way…

  25. this story was charming. a lil’ silly, but entertaining all the same.
the first page is sensually misleading while the second is romantically pleasant.
the cute banter paired with the funny flashbacks of her throwing things at matt’s head and flashing him her ta-ta’s to see if he would bat an eye made for a magnetic read.
the classroom/courtroom mock up trial was ridiculous, though. i felt like i was watching an episode of Saved by the Bell: the college years. the trouble that the prof went through to get rid of an obviously talented student and the convenience of the paper in question being from the same time period of his stroke seemed a lil’ unrealistic and slightly took me outa suspended disbelief mode.
but the strong finish brought me directly back.
samnee and waid are a strong team.
    4/5

  26. What a great individual issue, simple and effective.

  27. Came out a 3 for me, the ending was very classic comic book ending and I did not mind the romance thing going on however; after all of the comments and seeing as a POW I thought for sure going in this was going to blow my mind. I read this and enjoyed it thats that and thats all. (Kinda like The Avengers Movie; so much hype and all the tales of how this is the greatest movie of all time and after I saw it I thought this was a good movie thats it and thats all)!!
