   Some may say “too soon” with the Columbine reference. I will say that I will be disappointed if the book doesn’t contrain the 9/11 of food atrocities somewhere in the next 20 issues.

    Let me qualify this statement by saying that I really do like Chew. It’s clever and original and well-drawn and 10 times better than most of the huckleberry super hero comicbook bullshit that dominates the medium… But… there are too many goddamn cliffhangers for its own good. Other-worldly fire messages, vampires, old man in dilapidated chicken-shack, Tony’s freezer, Tony’s daughter, cosmonauts, googleberries (or whatever the fuck they’re called), a bunch of other shit that I can’t remember. It might just be me and my feeble mind, but I feel like I would enjoy this more in one complete volume instead of issues (or even trades). I have confidence that all will be resolved in satisfactory fashion so I will stop bitching now and continue to buy the issues. 3.5/5.
