  1. The preview for this looks pretty good–I’m definitely giving it a shot. 🙂

  2. Atom I can take or leave, but I am very interested to see Lemire take on the writing chores for a mian stream superhero comic.

  3. Interested to see Lemire on this.  It would be cool to see him do a Legion story.  He’s been a fan of them for a long time.

  4. All I know if the atom is not playing hockey in the microcerse this wasn’t worth the money

  5. I forget… is the Atom co-feature going to be in Action or Adventure?

  6. @Slockhart

    Read the solicit, jackass

  7. Yeah jackass!

  8. I hate it when people belittle themselves.

  9. I know a lot of these great independent creators get sucked up by the big 2 because they have kids to feed (I completely understand) so I’m hoping Jeff Lemire’s work on this is outstanding, but I also hope he continues in the indy stuff a great deal.  I’m just absolutely in love with his "Sweet Tooth" series, I read "The Nobody" and his "Essex County Trilogy" just arrived in my mailbox today.

  10. I love the Atom! can’t wait! But, I don’t know if i want to start picking up Adventure again. Why can’t they just let Lemire take over Adventure Comics starring Superboy with the Atom co-feature? Stupid DC!

  11. Get it? Belittle themselves? It’s a comic about the.. Oh never mind.

  12. @TexasZombie99: Lamire said during his reveal of exclusive tenure at DC that it doesn’t extend to his OGN he’s working on for IDW, not to mention Sweet Tooth, so yeah, I’d say they’re allowing him to do his indie stuff.

  13. Oh wow…I pre-ordered this a couple months ago and didn’t even realize it was Lemire.  This should be interesting.

  14. It was by no means badly written, but I didn’t like that this was basically set-up and quick origin for his upcoming storyline in Adventure Comics.  Is he the main story over there or just the back-up?  If it gets good reviews I may pick up the trade.

  15. The Atom is the black-up in Adventure Comics. The main feature is the Legion of Super-Heroes by Paul Levtiz. Thankfully, because if the Adventre Atom is as dull as this one-shot it’ll just be another back-up I end up skipping.

  16. Give him an ongoing. The Atom can support it and the author did an awesome job on this issue. How sad is it that only one person knows Ray’s identity? Most heroes have at least 2 or 3 people they can confide in.

  17. I loved this, I just wish that his backup was just the focus of Adventure

  18. @Minion – it’s sad that DC are ignoring the fact the whole world was told the Atom’s secret ID in a book years ago.

  19. When was that Mart? I’d like to look it up. I’m now interested in the Atom.

  20. This is a good origin issue but… that was all. As well, it’s not enough to get me to read Adventure just for this. Sadly. 3/5

  21. I really liked it but I don’t want to read Adventure Comics. 🙁

  22. Dull, set-up story. Dissappointing, as Lemire is clearly a good storyrteller. Maybe the Adventure story will be good, but I won’t be finding out.
