BLACK KISS II #1

Sex, death, and the movies – what else really matters?

Nearly twenty five years ago, HOWARD CHAYKIN brought the 80s to a close, and comics to the brink, with his landmark erotic thriller, BLACK KISS. Now, after years of anticipation, he’s back with issue one of BLACK KISS II, a six-part miniseries that tells the story behind that legendary story – like the original, in glorious black and white.

And really, now – does it have to be so dirty?

  1. Oh man, I loved the first Black Kiss. I’m so “excited” I may just “expell” my joy” all over the place. I can “hard”ly contain my passion for Howard Chaykin’s work. I may just “come” to the comic shop right as they open so I can “jack” a copy of this as soon as I can. I just hope I don’t go “blind” before I can enjoy this comic in the comfort of my bed. I better keep the tissues close by though – I mean, you know, for the tears of joy from reading such a brand “spanking” new story from Chaykin.

Wednesday can’t cum soon enough. I need release quick.

  2. GO TIME.

  3. heh, hopefully the “pulls” for this comic stays at 69!

    • Man, will this book stay at 0 percent for POW? Hilarious if it does…

    • Hilarious, but well deserved! The art was okay and certainly reminded me of some of Chaykin’s great work in early American Flagg (and Black Hawks), but it wasn’t as refined or tight in layouts or rendering as that better art. And the writing was really pretty schmaltzy. Not bad, but not amongst the best the week had to offer for my tastes. If you don’t mind basic porn and you have have any nostalgic love of Chaykin then this is almost a must-read, but as great comic books are concerned, it’s easily missable.
