  1. Not having J.H. Williams on this book for a while is definitely a big loss but I’ve really begun to like Kate Kane as a character and the direction this series is going.

  2. With J.H. Williams off art, I’ve dropped this.
The plots and tone just seem a bit flawed.
It’s unfortunate that Greg Rucka’s not writing this character.

  3. I feel the character and writing are as interesting as they ever were under Rucka. But there is no doubt that I’m buying this more for Willaims’ art than his writing. That said– McCarthy did some good issues in the prevous arc — good enough for me to wait around for the next Williams’ illustrated arc.

  4. Thank god this didn’t get the Requiem stamp.

    • I was thinking the same thing — and they could have easily with Batman’s appearance. I guess DC editorial knows some restraint after all . . .

  5. Love this character and series, but wasn’t there a marriage proposal at the end of last issue? I feel like I missed something, suddenly she’s fighting Me. freeze

    • That didn’t bother me. Being a superhero is a pretty depending calling, so it made sense that we might not see them together this issue. The two page sequence with the realtor was brief but told me all I needed to know for now about the state of their relationship . . .

  6. Easily my favorite Batbook, partly because it doesn’t have to worry so much about tying into the rest of the batman family books. Also, Batwoman / Kate Kane and her supporting cast have been very compelling.

    • I’m with you there, great cast of characters and kept away from the demands of full integration with the comings and goings of other books in continuity

  7. My only regret is that I can only give this issue 5 stars.

  8. This was the most consistent “non-williams” issue of this book so far, with the main man on extended hiatus its nice to see this book in safe hands. McCarthy really raises his game her and keeps up the books high standard.

  9. This was a good issue even with Williams off the art duties. Going to be fun to watch Kate’s marriage progress. Interesting to see Batman appear in this. He hasn’t been in many issues.
