Since the beginning of this series, Batwoman has been largely fighting villains of her own, supernatural and mythological creatures instead of the Arkham in-mates that usually plague Gotham's caped heroes. Seeing Batwoman go up against Mr. Freeze is a reminder that she's actually in Gotham with the rest of the Bat-family; something that's been easy to forget when the character has had at most a minimal involvement in the New 52's Bat-family crossovers.
When Batman shows up to find that Batwoman has dealt with Freeze in her own, straight-forward fashion, Batwoman says what we're all thinking: “Figures... When Gotham is under siege from Medusa, you're nowhere to be found. But the minute I take down one of your villains, here you are.” It's nice to see the two Bat's interacting from time to time, if only so Kate can give Bruce a bit of sass.
Story-wise, this issue continues setting up the foundations of New 52 Batwoman's second story-arc, which – aside from getting her dangerously entangled with the DEO and thrown against some chaotic enemies – will also see her adjusting to married life and crime-fighting with a sidekick at her side. Trevor McCarthy's art maintains the innovative page layouts that have become a staple of the series and does a solid job of upholding the quality and tone set by J.H. Williams III.
All in all, this was a good 'bridging' issue that sows the seeds of plenty of plot conflict to come.

Great review, BWB. I picked up Batwoman for the “World’s Finest” arc because I wanted to check out JHWIII’s take on Wonder Woman, but adopted a wait-and-see approach to #18. So I waited, and with your review, I now “see.”
Gonna head out on my lunch break and pick it up. Thank you (for making me spend more money on comics)!
You’re welcome 😉
