BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT #5

When a madman attacks Batman with a new and powerful fear toxin, The Dark Knight visits the coldest and most distant part of his soul. And as his deepest fears resurface, he must rely on old friends to help quell the terrible effects, and to remind him of his true mission as a hero.

But what Batman discovers hidden in a moment of courage may change his life forever… for a dark figure from his past has returned – the one adversary The Dark Knight truly fears.

  1. Great book! This seems to be the most underated Bat title out there… I think they have all been very good and this one has been no exception! Scarecrow looks so insane I love it.

    • @Flash I dropped ‘Tec and started reading TDK, and I’m so glad I did. I love this trippy book. So underrated.

    • as with all the bat title out at the min this is just as good – sooo underated well worth piking up and ive been waiting for this lead up to bain for a while cant wait

  2. This is one of those books that’s not for everyone, especially those who have a fixed idea about what a Batman title should be. I’m not saying its great, but I do think that this is a unique Bat title with a lot of personality. I would compare its attitude to Zeb.Ewell’s Avenging Spiderman title. Do you want to see Batman eat ice cream with Alfred? Do you like an inordinate number of team ups and cameos? Try this title, you might find it to be a fun read!

  3. ha ha, that guy’s name is Dick Friend!!

  4. You’re right. This book is not for everyone. It’s kinda silly but the art makes up for it.

  5. This is wacky fun! Definite a surprise for me from the new 52.

  6. This is my POW barely beating out the JL and Aquaman, JL and Aquaman seemed to be very short this month for some reason?
**SPOLER**– TDK was awesome and the appearance of Supes was a huge #ss suprise. I was not expecting him to pop in like that however; Batman really seemed to be in deep dung and he was not getting out of this situation alone. I do not even know how he will survive from that beat down from Supes? Referances to the JL and WW this has all made this comic move into my top four as of right now, making it relevant in the DCU. Not to mention the artwork had the perfect creepy feeling and Supes really looked like Supes in this comic. Scarecrow is just way to awesome in this comic I love it!!

  7. BEST issue of the arc so far, IMO!

  8. Oh, and it shows you just how major a Bat-foe The Scarecrow should always have been.

Great portrayal of him in this issue.

  9. this was a last minute impulse buy. i flipped through it and it looked fantastic. i guess drugged out, tweeker batman is the flavor of the month
i love the scarecrow. one of my all time favorite batman villains. i keep wanting to see the freaky, freddy kruger-like injection needle fingers like in the arkham asylum game.
this was fun. better than the previous issues i read. next issue looks great. i’m sure it will be another game time decision
