AZRAEL #10

New writer David Hine (ARKHAM REBORN, DETECTIVE COMICS) makes his AZRAEL debut in part 1 of the 4-part “The Killer of Saints!” Members of religious cults are being murdered in grotesque reenactments of the martyrdom of Christian saints. Each victim holds part of a centuries-old secret that, once revealed, will alter the course of human history.

  1. Dropped around issue 5 or 6, but I’m giving the new creative team a shot.  The idea of Azrael is interesting, but seems to be unable to handle properly.

  2. I thought David Hine did a pretty respectable job on his short run with Detective Comics….

  3. Giving the new team and arc a chance.

  4. Yeah….

Sorry guys I just couldn’t see myself to keep buying this. Hine is a great writer, but with the sloppy ending from last issue and the inclusion of March….Just can’t see myself buying it. If I hear good things though I will buy in trade.

  5. It wasn’t too bad, actually–Hine’s got an interesting hook and does good at setting it up. As for March–between this and the unfortunately-written Batman arc he did a bit of a ways back, he’s not a bad artist at all, he just had this insane thought that he was a pin-up artist for a second.

Is it good enough to follow every week? I dunno, but I figure Hine has an issue or two more to convince me.
