  1. Not getting AvX, but as a Spider-man fan I was thinking of getting this to see if he can bet Colossus.

Gambit vs. Cap seems heavy one sided.

  2. Much as I like The Gambit, Cap should win against this youngster.
Spidey has beaten Jaggernaut many of times so what if he is a little bit Collusus or not. Go Spidey!!
Last issue was a sweep and I will predict here a split and that will make this 3 to 1 in the battle arena.
Take your pick here in this issue….

Gambit vs Cap= Cap favored by 4
Spidey vs Colossus/Jaggernaut= CJ favored by 1

I am still rooting for Cap and Spidey though.

    • I would think Cap and Spidey are the clear winners, but if Marvel don’t give the X-men a win this is gonna start to look biased.

I think Cap will beat Gambit (he’s got a movie out now after all), and Marvel will sacrifice Spider-man to give the X-men a win.

    • My odds were correct again!! So in this title Avengers 3 X-Men 1!!

      Go Avengers!!

The Colosus vs Spidey was kinda cheap, I thought it could have gotten a lot deeper with the past history of the Jauggernaut!

  3. Definitely going to be skipping around this series a bit. I’m getting this issue because I love Gillen, but I’m gonna ignore the next issue that features Loeb on script, since we all know how his mindless superhero fight song-and-dances pan out.

  4. When are the free digital copies starting on this title? I wants me some digital comics for free w/ my cake!

  5. Cap vs Gambit is much like Stephen Hawking vs Andre the Giant.

I mean seriously…..how is THAT fight a selling point to anyone?

    • I’m sorry, you’re NOT giving that one to Hawking? You don’t think he could outwit Andre?

So shall it be with this battle. Sorry, Cap.

  6. There’s no way Cap can loose.
But hey, I said the same thing about Maganeto.

  7. I think the selling point of the Cap Vs. Gambit fight is to see that sissy-boy Gambit get beaten to a pulp by Cap. At least that’s what I’m hoping to see.

  8. Ron’s has to be loving these books. X-Men are not doing so great. I knew who was going to win both fights and I have to say. The Spider-Man Vs Colossus seemed more like a Spider-Man vs Green Hulk fight thunderclap and all.

I have to say tho. I thank this comic book. Cuz it made me dig up my old Todd McFarlane 1991 #16 Spider-Man/X-Force Vs Jaggernaut. Now that was a great comic… wow… Thank you Todd McFarlane.

  9. Holy sh*t! A member of the X-Men actually won? I can’t believe it.

  10. Dammit, Remy! You gotta keep your head on a swivel!

Two very fun fights, well drawn.

  11. I call BS on Colossus winning. The judges were clearly paid off.

  12. This issue was so much better than the first. I gave it a high rating because these fights were actually really entertaining and I loved the “pop up video” facts

  13. Fun issue, but it reminds me of why I don’t read Spider-Man. That dude is annoying. Great art though! The regular Avengers book could take a lesson from this.

  14. Hmm, this was a fun issue, but the art by Larroca seemed a bit rushed. I guess that makes sense since he’s still drawing Invincible Iron Man, but I felt the Spidey/Juggernaut fight definitely suffered due to this (as well as the mediocre end, though that wasn’t unexpected).

  15. Great fun, Cap really impressed me so much in this issue; much respect for Cap from here on out!!

    K

    • Also, must say Gambit has some really cool ideas, really outside of the box for this battle, and I almost thought he had Cap for like a second; which I am sure we all did till the smoke cleared and then Gambit got his clock cleaned!!

      K

  16. AVX Fun Fact: This book is not worth $4

  17. This “companion” series should be offered as a free, online, promotional incentive instead of a $3.99 book. The art might be pretty, but oh Lord, do these fights make no sense.
