  1. Game time decision on getting this. If my LCS has this and it gets a good buzz, I’m getting it.

  2. A good chunk of Bryan Hitch’s work is utterly flawless. Especially The Authority and The Ultimates. While his work on the New Avengers Finale and Captain America Reborn wans’t BAD…one can’t help but compare. Fingers crossed that this will rank up there with Hitch’s best work.

  3. @comicBOOKchris  Yup, his new stuff really is no where near as polished as his old stuff. I get the feeling he just didn’t want to spend months on one book anymore like he did with the Ultimates.

I’ve seen some preview pages from this issue…. it looks like we’re getting more new avengers finale level work again.

  4. Does this mean JRJR wont be doing the art for The Avengers anymore? If so thats awesome! no offense to JRJR he’s a good artist but his style is not suited for a book like this at all IMO.

  5. @thompsonlive  i think he coming back, mate, so “tough titties” as the french say

  6. Wow, didn’t #12 come out last week? Lots o’ comics.

  7. @edward *sigh*

  8. @edward it’s not like it’s enough to make me drop the book because I’m fairly enjoying what’s going on with the story I just feel like the right artist could take this book to the next level.

  9. @thompsonlive: I am the exact opposite, Romita is what keeps me, Bendis is who pushes me away at times. However last issue was great.

  10. @thompsonlive  I like JRJR, this isn’t his best work however, whoever is inking him isn’t using the heavy brush line that makes his work feel really solid though.

but, you have to admit, it’s pretty enjoyable over all

  11. “We should tell her our entire plan.” LOL! Destined for panel of the week!

  12. Loved the cover art. The story was engaging and a fun read. Plus knowing that a future battle with Ultron is on the way made picking this one up a good choice.

  13. I thought the story was mediocre (I feel like I’ve had enough of Ultron stories…maybe I’m too old). I’m not finding his Avengers run as good as his work on DD or Alias. I liked Hitch’s work here, definitely better than his pages on Finale.

  14. @edward oh yes it is an overall enjoyable experience. I’m just being nit-picky

  15. I am excited for what is coming up in this book. I have never read a big Ultron story. And I am very much looking forward to one written by Bendis.

  16. Ok story, with a very strong ending that has me hooked! I think that is what a point 1 issue should be!

  17. Oh god, again with the Ultron stuff?  Didn’t they do Ultron already in that Avengers series with Frank Cho?  Enuf already!

Again, Wolvie has no place with the Avengers, they’re not the type of team that needs a killer like him, and for Bendis to portray him as so bloodthirsty is out of character and demonstrates a poor understanding of the character.  He does this in Moon Knight #1 as well, it’s disappointing and idiotic.

  18. First the infinity gems, now Ultron? Bendis is really knocking it out of the park. My favorite Avengers ongoing, and yes I read Secret, New, Thunderbolts, and Academy.

However, did this really need to be a .1 issue?
