FINALLY!! an avengers issue that doesnt have terrible artwork. i dont mean to bash the art on the last 12 issues, but seriously, this aint a newbe book like kickass its the FREAKIN AVENGERS..now that i blew off some steam, time to get down to business. This 12.1 issue has it all, from the eminnent evil threat that always seems to follow up with a potential human apocalypse, all the way to them spidey-wise cracks we all know and love. I just hope for the books sake that Bendis gets off the crack pipe long enough to get another artist thats not Romita Jr. Im  a sucker for a good Avengers story and Im an even bigger fan of  the way Bendis does dialogue like a BOSS, but if the art cant flow with the story I just cant get the full experience of it. I mean really Romita made everyone look like cabbage patch kids with five o’ clock shadow. and since when did the head of shield ever wear a turtle neck, i didnt even know if that was really Steve Rogers or Mr. Rogers. Bottom line this in spite of the last dozen issues this 12.1 brings a new starting point not only story wise but art wise and I for one will be looking foward to picking up the Avengers again.

QUESTION: what did you think of this 12.1 issue? did it feel fresh, or recycled?
