  1. A new Astro City?? YAY!!!

  2. price rise to $3.99 with no extra pages, in the middle of the whole Dark ages run.

    dropped.

  3. $3.99 shouldn’t be a shock to anyone anymore, it’s the new price point.  At this point, I’m surprised when I see a book is only $2.99.

  4. How are only 56 readers pulling this?  Guys, you might need to do a show (or another one) on just Astro City because it’s obvious not enough people know how great it is.

  5. It’s in the works.

  6. "How are only 56 people pulling this?" Because I didn’t even know it was coming out? If I hadn’t been bored enough to scroll way further down the iFanboy list, I wouldn’t’ve even seen this book!

When was the last issue of this? A year ago? I don’t even remember for certain how/if the last story ended. The story with the cop and his criminal brother? Egh…thinking back, I *think* I remember reading the end of that.

As far as dropping Astro City because an issue today costs a measely dollar more…Dude, by the time The Dark Age finishes you’ll be paying $5 for ANY comic, so I don’t really see the problem. I can see dropping a monthly title if it does up a dollar, because that saves you $12 extra a year or whatever. But, congratulations, you saved yourself like $2 this year by not buying one of the most best series of the past 15 years.

  7. @flapjaxx, I don’t know if you saw the book today, but they changed the cover stock and possibly the paper stock, so, @leigh, it’s worth the extra buck.

  8. this might just be my favorite brent anderson art ever.

  9. Brent definitely hit the ball out of the park.  I’m very happy that Astro City is back.  But I’m sympathetic to flapjaxx, he’s right, this book has lost all its momentum, and the truth is that the Dark Ages have been the weakest arc in the admittedly incredibly strong Astro City pantheon.  But it ain’t over yet, so we’ll see what happens.

  10. These Dark Age story arcs are cool and all, but I wanna get back to the "present" stories.

  11. This was the 1st astro city issue I’ve read and i loved this issue and i’m going to start buying the trades. I hope the guys make a astro city show I would need some background on this masterpiece that I can’t believe that only 91 pulls

  12. I re-read Dark Ages up till now last night…Book One is very strong, it really held together.  Book Two was a little more muddled, as Charles’ plotline involving corruption with his partner maybe wasn’t as straight-forward as it could be.

But I do think Book Three will be pretty cool, I look forward to seeing how the Silver Agent ends up rescuing our two middle-aged boys from the fire that their life has remained (wow, that was poetic, huh?) and redeeming superhero-dom.
