ASTRO CITY #2

When the Honor Guard charges into battle, they’re not alone. They’re backed by a crack support staff, from researchers to threat assessment teams to hotline switchboard clerks. And when one young woman gets the job offer of a lifetime, it opens the way to a world of wonder, of possibilities—and possibly, the greatest mistake of her life.

The return of the acclaimed series continues, with a closeup look at the humans behind the super humans.

  1. Finally a proper issue dedicated more to Honor Guard, normally they make an appearance or guest in a battle but never really get a starring role. Plus the background of their support crew which is a nice bonus!

  2. I got hooked last issue.

  3. I am so happy Astro City is here! I hope it is for the long hall! I can’t wait to see what is in Astro City #100!…. but for not… I very excited for Astro City #2! Everybody should read this!

  4. THIS IS WHY I READ COMICS

  5. Delicious cover. I love the Astro City-style, the usage of light is really something fresh in contrast to Vertigo’s (and DC’s) darker titles.

Why does a solicit about a young woman getting a job with Honor Guard’s support staff get me more excited than any crossover event? Stoked for this.

    • Because a big not-so-secret part of Astro City’s success has been the way that Busiek, a little bit like Stan Lee I would add, always somehow keeps the normal humans integral to the storylines, and often the central characters.

      Equally stoked.

    • I agree… DC has been hyping Trinity War for almost two years now… I am excited…. but not even close to how excited I am for Astro City #2

  7. Last issue was good but this one was great! Loved it!

  8. JML (@twitter.com/JoshMLabelle) says:

Now THIS was more like it. Last issue seemed a little off to me, possibly because of the Grant Morrison-y metanarrator, but this is exactly the Astro City I remember.

  9. Another classic.

  10. I liked this, but it seemed very similar to a recent issue of Young Avengers.
