It seems like only a year ago this story started…oh wait…it was
I so don’t care about this storyline anymore. What’s the next arc about? I hope it’s better.
Nice art. Boring story. I’m out!
I have to read this even though I really don’t want to;)
@ctrosijr- I think you’re joking, but perhaps not. but the third issue of the next arc should be out any week now.
The sad thing is Astonishing was like the one subscription I have left. Quite a value, that one, a two year subscription that has run like 6 years.
@ABirdseysView: No, I was serious. I guess I should clarify. I don’t consider the mini-series, "Astonishing X-Men: Xenogenesis," the next arc because, well, I get a subscription to "Astonishing X-Men" and Marvel is not sending me copies of the mini-series, so they clearly don’t think its the next story arc either. Now, the answer may be that there are no plans for Astonishing proper after this issue. I have to admit that I haven’t seen (or looked for) any "Astonishing X-Men" solicits recently. I was just wondering if there were any plans out there for this title not related to the mini-series.
I hope that they just end this series with this issue and continue to do mini-series like Xenogenesis. That should help with delays (if they have it all in the can first) and people can jump on or off depending on the creators / storyline
I think the series proper is over after this. "Astonishing" became a line of minis.
Wow, i completely forgot about this. I wonder if I’ll get this from DCBS or if they dropped it from my list due to how long its been like they did with Red Mass for Mars #4. Either way, i don’t really care at this point.
Is this cover an homage to Contest of Champions #3 (1982)?
I actually liked the end of this story. The last page was rubbish, but the idea of a villain that was basically a normal world mutant who was pissed they weren’t an attractive X-Men I thought was pretty cool. It reminded me a lot of Grant Morrison’s run.
Well, that happened.
Not worth the wait at all but I still like Warren Ellis’s characterisation.
Did the guy ever think about just getting plastic surgery? Come on!
So, is this title done or what? If not, I hope someone other than Ellis is writing.
