  1. Love GL but I refuse to buy this. A 6 issue mini for this price is a rip-off.

  2. Well it certainly collects some great stuff here. This has one of my favorite Cooke stories, with Hal going through out the years from Dad to Carol. That’s a great story.

But yeah I’d rather wait for the reprinted TPB….which is next week I think?

  3. They should have included Sinstro Corp Wars, and the Secret Origin too

  4. Just not enough issues to warrant $75 or £75 when it gets over to my local comic shop in the UK even if I am the biggest Darwyn Cooke fan.

  5. If this had Sinestro Corp Wars and Secret Origins I would pick this up in a heart beat.

  6. $75 (or $50ish on some heavy discounts) for six issues that most of you guys already have in one or more formats–and Rebirth is nearly universally acknowledged to be no better than about the 5th best Johns GL storyline. What would the comics industry do without you guys? But, hey, I can’t complain. I mean, you guys are what’s keeping the industry going, paying way way way too much for stuff you already have.

But $75 for six issues of old material, huh. I hope no one who buys this complains about $4 comics or $2 downloads.

  7. @flapjaxx – It would be worth having on your bookshelf if it included Sinestro Corp Wars + Secret Origin. I buy the Absolutes of the books because I love sharing my books(not just comics) with friends. Having multiple copies ensures that you don’t have to worry about it getting lost or damaged.

I don’t complain about price, but rather quality. 🙂

  8. DC knows that everyone LOVES the absolutes and will pay for them, but they really really have got to stop putting minor mini series into these editions. They have some really skinny absolutes out there that just aren’t worth it.

I guess we can all vote with our debit cards.

  9. @wallythegreenmonster: I don’t know that I’d classify the miniseries that relaunched DC’s top selling book as minor.

  10. @Conor: I agree that Rebirth is a top selling brand from DC but, as a consumer, I’m totally agree with wallythegreenmonster.

I got my Absolute Rebirth yestreday and is so sad to have that thin book in my hand.  It looks pretty and all but still I’m sending back my copy.  The story is good but doesn’t really worth $75 for only 224 pages.

I would rather see all this material on a Delixe Edition than Absolute.
