My wife was a big Impulse fan, and I like the hyperactive guy myself. The first few years of his series were great.

This show is just piling on the fan service for DC fanboys like me. I wonder who this “tourist” is . . . . . .
We got Conner, then Tim and Cassie; it was only a matter of time til Bart showed up. And I’m glad he will.

If anyone has any inside info… Conor, is this show doing well? I can only imagine how psyched I’d be to watch this and Green Lantern on Saturday mornings if I was a kid.
To me, this is the Justice League Unlimited, Batman: The Animated Series, or Superfriends of its time. (I was in the Superfriends generation.) It kind of defines the genre, and as good as Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is, I think Young Justice has top-knotch art and voice talent.
I hope the series is getting the recognition it deserves and stays on the air for years to come.
First we get a Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman/Martian family team-up and now we get to see the Flash family in action! This show is becoming one of the essential must watches of the DCU along with Batman TAS, Superman TAS, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Batman Beyond, and some may argue even Teen Titans and the Superfriends (I grew up with the reruns when I was younger, and the League vs the Legion of Doom blew my mind as a child).
Show rules, its a lot of the DCU I love….I love the speedsters….how bout some Max Mercury huh, too old school?
I watch it live every week if I can, DVR it without fail, but perhaps most importantly, BUY THE TOYS so it will stay on the air for as long as the writers have good stories they want to tell. I love this show.

I can’t tell if you are really surprised or not, but Roy and Cheshire totally had Lian in the comics. So a lot of people knew I assume.
Jay is in it too! All the Flashes in one room!
Also, that Sword of the Atom short is pretty rad. Great proof of concept.
Love the whole Sword of the Atom storyline and it’s great to see it on screen. Can’t wait for more!

I don’t understand why WB won’t release the series on dvd in complete seasons instead of the half ass way they do now of releasing “season 1 part 1” etc…
Two reasons. [1] Cash grab. More disks means more money. [2] They think soccer moms shopping at Target will be more apt to picking these releases peace-meal. Sucks. I would love a neat blu-ray with lots of back matter.Art galleries. Commentaries. Sigh…i know it won’t happen.
Imagine how bad it is to be in the EU? No dvd releases of any DC stuff at all. The best I can hope for with Young Justice is that they release a US Blu Ray that is region free. I can’t understand why DC won’t release over here.
Well that is not correct, I am from Germany and we at least got every DC Animated Movie on DVD and since Green Lantern Emerald Knights also on Blu-Ray so far. I just wish they would give us a release date für Justice League Doom. But referrefing to the cartoons series, yeah it sucks to live on the other side of the Atlantic. My Guess is that we will see Young Justice in TV when it is finish in the US.

I’m not up on my Flases, but is Wally the weakest Flash in the comics?
Back when he was in Teen Titans, as Kid Flash, he had to quit for a while because the Speed Force was wrecking his body. He’s h consistently had limits that Barry and Bart haven’t.
I always thought he was the strongest since he pulled off things like the infinite mass punch and stealing movement from Inertia.
@Skypants: It’s changed over the years but for a long time he was the weakest Flash.
That sucks, because if i had to chose a favorite Flash, it would be Wally. I guess it’s my Teen Titans bias. This episode was amazing fun.

Watching this makes me miss the old DNU
I know. I loved the pre-52 Superboy and Wonder Girl. They were some of my favorite heroes. Now I hate them in the New 52. I love a lot of the New 52 but I desperately miss JT Krul’s Teen Titans. Scott Lobdell just isn’t doing it for me.
I agree. JT Krul’s TT run is highly underrated.
I tried to give Scott Lodbell’s TT a chance but the art..(sigh) isn’t agreeing with me.
Me, too. REALLY miss the old DCU. And I liked the last 12 or so issues of the TT comic, too.
I saw that Peter David wrote the episode and almost wet myself, but was cursing him out till the last few moments when Jay Garrick finally popped up. I would have been majorly bummed if that didn’t happen. Also nice to see Barry since I think this is the first time since the “five year jump”. Just wanted to see a little more of Red Arrow to see how that breaks down, but I guess we’ll have to stay tuned. The corner of Fox & Gardner was awesome, but the intersection of Baron & Waid would have been pimp. Time travel hurts my head as well as “Impulse-speak”. I still think NIghtwing runs not only the sidekicks, but the entire JL.
They are running it at the moment because all the big JL members are off world at their trial.
This has to be one of my favorite episodes of all time. It was just pure greatness. It crashed the mode.

*They finally got the old Roy back (and with the missing arm, he has the possibility of becoming Arsenal. Maybe.)
*The aliens accessing the meta-gene for their own purposes
Just overall an amazing episode. Definitely keeping this one in my DVR to watch again. Heck, I never read the old Young Justice series (aside from issue 1 which is free on comixology) but this makes me want to track down the whole run!
@ SDucky25: yes, DO get the back issues. It is a good series. Lately stories have been multi-part and that helps the writer develope the plot a bit.
God yes. Peter David’s Young Justice was my first comic love. It’s a crime that it hasn’t been collected, but you can get the issues online!

I loved this episode, best Flash ep ever! No idea Peter David had such a handle on the character.
This, as always, was another fantastic episode. It was so crash. lol. I hope this gives the powers that be ideas on a Flash movie. It was really well done visually and script.
I was almost expecting Barry to die in this episode, with Wally stepping up to become the Flash.

I adored this episode. Its just a show that is consistently great. The time jump felt a little rough at first (just cos I was loving the established status quo so much) but it really didn’t take long to get to love it!
Was I the only person who wanted (and partly suspected-wrongly) that one of the ninja guards might be Connor Hawke? Hope he shows up at some point.
Only thing I dislike is the thing I always dislike about seeing Speedsters in animation or live action: so slow. I want to see a shimmer and then move slightly to the left and them imply they just ran around the world. I don’t mind a blur if it dissipates quickly but I hate when you can watch Flash run and seeing the actual motions. That should only be possible when it is all shown in slow motion and then he should be allowed to move at the speed he does in the cartoon now. He should be super quick when everything stands still so you get a real idea of how fast he is. But thats just me.
If the expression means it kicked ass, then this episode totally crashed the mode.
Also, is it just me or does Barry speak in a bit of a Mississippi accent when he’s the Flash?
I think it was supposed to be like Oklahoma/Missouri. Because Central City is supposed to be in the midwest somewhere.
I was shocked at how awesome this episode was.
That was a near perfect comic book cartoon episode. This show just keeps getting better. So what is Avengers is getting cancelled just as long as this one keeps going.

@mgriffith yeah, unfortunately. The series was in production before Marvel was putting out there own cartoons, so they’re getting rid of A:EMH and making a new Avengers series that they make themselves that also ties into the Ultimate Spider-man cartoon.
@mgriffith, it isn’t official yet but there is a lot of talk about it. Loeb, was on Wordballoon last time and John asked him straight up about it and he gave a very long and vague no comment. I hope it stays. I love that show but I’m not too hopeful for a third season.
Loved this episode. These guys are hitting a home run nearly every time at bat.

Only way this show can get better is if the horrid future Bart lived in was the alternate Rock of Ages world from JLA.

I think this episode made for a great Flash/Impulse pilot.
All around fantastic. Getting Bart and Jay Garrick made my day. So did seeing Wally back in costume, although I thought he might also have a Flash suit by now. I liked how Wally was not as fast as Barry and Bart. Love the “Fox & Gardner” gag (when I pointed it out, my son called me a nerd – I owned it). I liked how they did the animation for the speedsters too.
So who were the aliens on this episode – still the Kroloteans? Didn’t get a good look at them.
Also liked Cheshire/Red Arrow. Wonder what will happen with the “real” Roy being found?
And yes, Sword of the Atom is great too!
