VIDEO: Paul Walks to SDCC: Episode 3: What Dreams May Come

I conclude my epic journey to San Diego Comic-Con before crossing the border. Was attempting a 90 day walk in three days a fool’s errand? Well, yes. But is it so bad to be a fool?

Paul Walks to SDCC: Episode 3: What Dreams May Come from Paul Montgomery on Vimeo.

So returns the conquered hero.

Watch Episode One.
Watch Episode Two.

  1. Fucking Bobugars cannot be stopped.

Well done. I enjoyed it. Thank you.

I’ll buy you a drink next year (assuming either of us get to go).

  2. This is great. So funny. I would love it if you just did these on a regular basis.

  3. "What?!"

  4. Bravo, sir. Bravo.

  5. This has been a blast! I share your feelings, sir. Couldn’t get out there myself this year. Maybe next year. I’m excited to hear that you ended it with one of my favorite songs.

  6. In all seriousness, I really thought you were going to break down in this. I felt generally sorry for you cause you couldn’t go. But I can’t wait to see how much money you’ll save by next year.

Great series of videos Paul. Hope we see more from time to time.

  7. The Decemberists make everything better, even Paul’s pathetic situation….nope…you’re cool Paul and still young. You’ll get your Unicorn someday, my friend.

  8. Amazing mini series. I’m a little bit in love with you, Paul.

  9. My hats off to you sir. This was a great part of the my Con experience this past weekend and i hope to see you out here next year.

Glad you guys are digging the videos! All your kind words really spurred me on. Instead of moping around all weekend I went out and got creative. It was a fun (and fairly cheap) series of adventures. I’ll definitely be doing more stuff like this in the future.

  11. 4 rite aids! That in itself is an Oddessey.

Paul, these really have been a lot of fun.  Thanks for doing them.  Nice call-back on the Charlie Brown wrist-thing.  Good grief.

By the way, was the guy who looked like Geoff Johns the gentleman you played the guitar to last time?  If that’s the case, the photos I’ve seen of Geoff have been Photoshopped.

The guy in episode two is Mr. G. The guy on the tape in episode three is a stranger I encountered two blocks from my house.

  14. you rocked it, man–awesome stuff, but hopefully you never have to make this video again!

(because you’ll be making more in San Diego, get it?)

  15. I’m pretty glad you didn’t go to San Diego, these were fantastic.

  16. You should post a tally of funds saved at the end of each of your articles, that way you have to commit, because we’ll all be watching you.

  17. Avatar photo Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

I highly doubt there are people who want me to go more than I want me to go.

  18. Paul, these were fantastic! Kudos on the creativity and all the hard work.

There will be a Paul shaped hole in my heart when I there isn’t another installment in a few days!

My wife’s one comment about this video: "Hey, that’s ours!" she said while pointing to your tea kettle.

I’m not sure she adequately felt your pain.  But she was right.  That tea kettle is just like ours.

  20. Avatar photo Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

Makes delightful tea doesn’t it? I wear a kimono when I make mine. It’s a whole thing.

  21. Why you werent asked to be the lead for’Into the Wild’ I’ll never know 🙂

  22. Avatar photo Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

That guy was an idiot. He burned all his money before he left. I spent mine on candy and Soap Opera Digests.

  23. Wow, the Geoff Johns look alike sounded hostile. Hope you make more of these videos, they’re a blast and something new for this iFanboy.

  24. All the eps have been fantastic!!!:) graet job paul.

  25. Nicely done Mr. Montgomery.  Very entertaining.
