Tune in Tomorrow For More on MOON KNIGHT From Bendis and Maleev

Tomorrow afternoon at 3pm EST we're taking part in a special Marvel press call with Brian Michael Bendis, Alex Maleev and editor Tom Brevoort to discuss all things Moon Knight

We'll have a preview of May's first issue and more details on the series shortly thereafter, but I thought it would be fun to include your collective voice in the discussion.

Comment below with any questions you have for the creative team regarding the new Moon Knight book, and I can hopefully deliver some answers tomorrow. Mind you, I only get to ask about two questions, but I'll make the most of them. So, no guarantees I'll be able to pose your specific questions, but let's give it a shot.

Check back tomorrow afternoon for a preview and some nitty gritty on Marvel's Next Big Thing.

Comments

  1. going at this with a clean slate, or are you going try and fix the continuity?

  2. I love that image.  I have no idea if I’ll buy the book (probably depends on the response from the iFanbase), but that image certainly has me interested.

  3. How long have you known you were going to do a Moon Knight series?

Did you two getting assigned this project put the character into limbo?

  4. I’d like to know how many issues either of them plan on staying on the book

  5. He look sbadass here, a far cry from all his other depictions.

  6. Why do you think previous incarnations of Moon Knight have failed to hold onto its audience?
Where do you see Moon Knight in the pantheon of Marvel Superheroes, mystical, street level, Avenger? Can he exist across these genres effectively during your run?

    Many thanks!

  7. What is your personal history with the character Moon Knight? I have heard you briefly mention Moon Knight and Bill Sienkiewicz in other interviews. What struck you most about the character and the creators working on Moon Knight when you were a young reader and aspiring creator?

  8. Are we going to be seeing all the different sides of his Moon Knight’s personality (marc, jake, steven) in this series, or is it going to primarily focus on just one side of him?

  9. Will you be focusing more on the mystical side, or the technology side?  I feel the mystical element of the character really helps differentiate Moon Knight from the Bat.

  10. Yeah – When does Bendis eat, sleep or tweet between the kajillion different issues he’s in charge of?

  11. Dear Mr.Bendis and Mr.Maleeve, Will you guys focus on the mystical and mentally messed up side of the character. He’s definitely not a Batman type in my opinion that’s Captain America’s Job 😉

  12. How will Alex be approaching this series artistically? will it be penciled similar to his early Daredevil work or will photo referance play a large role?

  13. Are you going to focus on his fighting skills more or his (sometimes talked about) powers?  Is this series going to have the MK with background in boxing, The U.S. Marine core, C.I.A, and as a mercenary. Or will you go the other root where he can gain power when under a full moon?..Or a little of both?

  14. Ok, guys.  Time to sell the WORLD on the concept of Moon Knight.  As a retailer for 15 years, I can confirm that Moon Knight has a dedicated and ravenous fan base.  From Moench and Sienkiewicz to Huston and Finch, Moon Knight means a lot to certian fans.  But when it comes time to buy his latest book, many of those fans find out about it late and are otherwise not there on a monthly basis when it counts the most.  I’ve heard him described at best as Marvel’s answer to The Shadow and at worst, Marvel’s Batman.  He’s an Avenger, he has one of the coolest comic book costumes there is, and he’s not opposed to dispening rough justice at times.  But what is Moon Knight really and why do people need to come out and pre-order this one?  Like yesterday. 😉

  15. Why does Moon Knight deserve my attention/money?  Why is he special?

  16. Are they planing on using the Jerome Opena / Gregg Hurwitz Costume  and toys?

Are they going to revamp his rouges

  17. I’m wondering if this is metaphorical or not…Wolverine Claws, Spider-Man glove and web shooters (?), standing on Cap’s Shield…this makes me think of Taskmaster….hmmmmm

  18. Question: Will MK still have Multiple Personality Disorder?

  19. Question: Are you going to be exploring similar themes that you did in your brilliant Daredevil run or are you going to try to find new things to explore with Moon Kinight?

  20. Question: I always felt that what Moon Knight was lacking was a good (or any) set of villains. Do you have any plans to give MK a new rogues gallery? If so, could you tell us of one? thanks, you the best in the biz.
