It’s not the years, honey. It’s the panels.
Dial H #1
By China Mieville, Mateus Santolouco, Tanya & Richard Horie, & Steve Wands
Captain Lachrymose is my new favorite superhero.
Daredevil #12
By Mark Waid, Chris Samnee, Javier Rodriguez, & Joe Caramagna
I feel like Matt had legal grounds for murdering Foggy in college.
Smallville: Season 11 #1
By Bryan Q. Miller, Pere Perez, Randy Major & Chris Beckett, & Saida Temofonte
I have to admit, it was good to see Tom Welling’s Clark again, if only on the page.
Avengers vs. X-Men #3
By Ed Brubaker, John Romita Jr., Scott Hanna, Laura Martin, & Chris Eliopoulos
But… who had time to prepare Cap’s mission report? Whose job is that? It’s Dr. Druid, isn’t it?
Swamp Thing #9
By Scott Snyder, Marco Rudy, Val Staples, & Travis Lanham
This was the most unexpectedly sweet moment of the week.
Mind The Gap #1
By Jim McCann, Rodin Esquejo, Sonia Oback, & Dave Lanphear
I didn’t expect to be thinking about Blind Mellon this week. No I did not.
Earth 2 #1
By James Robinson, Nicola Scott, Alex Sinclair, & Dezi Sienty
Nicola Scott should never not draw comics. And Wonder Woman should always watch her six.
Fury MAX #1
By Garth Ennis, Goran Parlov, Lee Loughridge, & Rob Steen
Fucking love Ennis’ Fury.
DD #12 win…lol…
I’ve been reading Smallville digitally as it comes out. It hasn’t been bad, but I wish there was more going on in the first arc.
I feel like Miller writes a better Superman than anything we’ve seen out of the comic actually titled “Superman”. Unfortunately, he has to work within the confines of the Smallville world. This makes me sad.
Dr. Druid in that scene is busy making 10 pots of coffee for the A-Listers. “Once Cap tastes my dark roast, he’ll know I belong in the field.”
‘The Fury abides, man.’
I can only imagine that it takes a lot to make an old man sitting in his bath robe and tartan slippers look like a complete bad-ass, but Parlov makes it look easy.
Really channeling Watchmen there. Strong Comedian vibe.
Lacrimosa? Like the band? He even looks like the singer 🙂
Wonder Woman got stabbed? Time for another reboot!
earth two, genius.
“ultimate” dc for you marvel zombies.
dead’s dead.
She’ll be back by issue 12.
@Runaway13: That would run counter to the entire point of the book.
Im shocked you didn’t post the final page of venom 17, that was iconic. It was of Eddie Brock as Toxin.
Man, I cannot WAIT to read Fury Max, it looks like it’s the best thing that ever happened.
Awesome all in my pull but haven’t got Mind The Gap and Fury max due to the incident, now I’m even more stoked to read em, Fury Max and Earth-2 are what I was most anticipating.
It’s a shame Iron Man’s mask is expressionless b/c I can see a big eye roll under there.
Spider-Woman AND Black Panther are staring at The Thing’s ass… What’s up with that?
I’ll admit it – that Earth 2 panel got a gasp out of me when I read the book. Scott so nailed it. Brilliant bunch of moments from the week that was.
Lots of impaling going on in the comics realm this week.
I love that Black Panther is defiantly facing away from the group. “Nope. The Kind of Wakanda is too good for this mission brief.”
Trevor Scott’s inks on Nicola Scott’s pencils…me no like. No like at all!
Is that a super emo?
That Nick Fury panel sounds like W.A.S.P. lyrics, metal \m/
Where is that panel in Dial H?? What page because I do not remember that at all??
Thanks for the help.

Smallville Season 11 issue 1 was such a wonderful gift. I could hear all the actors’ performances happening in my head, because the writing was that consistent (of course, Bryan Q. Miller!), the art was that faithful, and I know the series that well. That was the single issue highlight of my year so far.
