Comments

  1. Knew that Reed/Hulk pic would have to be here.

But damn Manapul is doing amazing things in Flash. Every time you feature it I wish I wasn’t a penniless student cos I so want that. I mean I had to find ‘The Flash’ on that spread and that alone showed me a level of detail and craftsmanship that should just be a rule when it comes to drawing comics

  2. If I remember correctly, in the first arc of Hickman’s Fantastic Four, he said those Infinity Gauntlets are only useful in their original dimension, so I really don’t think it’s going to be much of a threat/have an effect on the Marvel 616 Universe.

    But I could be wrong.

  3. meh Stark is an odd man.

  4. Come on! it had me choked up…..they were a great pair….spouses should not turn their significant others into bombs

  5. Pym, not Stark.

  6. @Josh: Yeah, but Stark rebuilt him this time around.

  7. Drunkard.

  8. whoops (iphone trouble), i’m surprised not to see all or some of Atomic robo: real science adventures here:) fantastic book.

  9. Some good choices.

  10. What’s great is that I’m buying several of these books tomorrow. I kinda noticed that best art in comics are saved till the last week of the month.

  11. These were all great choices. For me, the last panel of Atomic Robo Real Science Adventures #1 was phenomenal. “From hell’s heart I spam at thee!” indeed.

  12. There were a lot of great moments in each comic I read. But that Avenging Spider-Man spread you showed….mwah! Perfection right there.

Also, I would put the final page of FF in as well. Yeah it’s a blank spot with only the text ‘Parliament of Doom’ on it but so what!? That’s badass right there defined.

  13. Well I’m sure it was done as a call back to EVEN AN ANDROID CAN CRY.

  14. Thanks Conor! 🙂

Also I didn’t think Pym ever built Vision.

Unless Ultron is using the Pym name. Which he is known to do

  15. damn it! Okay Ultron is an odd……man?

  16. Tony rebuilt him… So does he leak bourbon from his eyes?

  17. Okay so I wasn’t the only one trying to figure out how an android produced bodily fluids.

  18. Really loved that whole scene between Wanda and Vision. This is a Vision that hasn’t been around since Bryne started on West Coast Avengers 20 years ago… Please let the Avengers have a barbecue after AvX and show Vision in shorts and a polo like the old Vision and Scarlet Witch Maxi-series.

  19. Vision actually cried in his first 1968 appearance in Avengers #58, titled, appropriately enough, “Even an Android Can Cry”. Vizh is a notorious softie.

  20. Yeah this is straight up Vision 101. He’s a crying robot. That’s his deal.

  21. Tombstone reference for Scaled panel fits perfectly.

  22. I love these and it makes me wanna pick up avenging spider-man

but man, I was really hoping for some I, Vampire love because theres a two page spread in the issue that looks like a woodcut and I sat in awe of it when I saw it

  23. The Avengers Origins comics from earlier this year were mostly forgettable, but the Vision issue was my favorite Avengers issue in years. Seriously, HIGHLY suggest trackIng it down if your a Vision fan, or an Avengers fan in general. Perfect example of what avengers comics have been missing.

  24. Great panels as usual, I love that Vision moment and grabbed that #0 issue just to see if I wanted to keep up w it, but just saying keep up means my wallet is telling me to save and wait for the trade. Flash spreads are beautiful, Secret Avengers is one of the best team books out there. Last time I seen the Infinity Gems they were in the hands of each of the Illuminati, I’m sure I’ve seen em somewhere since but when did they all get in one place and how did Doom find em? I’d love to know cause I’m not gonna go find the issues, anyone knows, I’d appreciate it, thanx.

  25. Jonathan Hickman knows how to use silent panels.

  26. Glad the Avenging Spider-man panel made it, easily my favorite panel this week. As mentioned, that whole book was packed full of great art.

  27. Avatar photo Parri">Parri (@pazzatron) says:

Cap punching Hitler on the same page as him rising a missile?
If there was a ‘Most triumphant page’ award at the end of the year it would have just found a new front runner.

(Can we have a ‘Most triumphant page’ award?)

  28. That’s the subtitle for Avengers 2: “You will believe that a robot can cry.”

  29. I can not wait to by the FLASH in A collected edition!

  30. Avenging Spider-Man panel was great. Great art in the whole book. Great panels all around. Rick is a violent bada$$ tho.
