TAKIO Goes Ongoing in May

Brian Bendis and Michael Oeming have shared this Takio based Public Service Announcement, that is actually an ad for their all ages comic series. Previously an original graphic novel, and now it’s an ongoing series, the specifics of which we’ll learn eventually.

If you know someone who might like this who would want to know about this story, pass it along, because there’s probably no other way they’d see it.

That was a cynical joke, I admit it. Luckily, the title itself is very much un-cynical, so it all works out.

From an economic standpoint, which shouldn’t concern the kids this is aimed at, it probably makes more sense for the creators, as well as the direct market, to get a more regular stream of income, which is being paid on the back end, as opposed to a lump sum once a year or so. That’s just speculation on my part.

  1. so I guess this means Powers gets the bench for a while

    • this is really interesting news. i wonder if super dinosaur’s numbers had anything to do with this decision. i will be picking this up for sure. i really enjoyed the graphic novel.

  2. I’ll probably wait for it to be collected.

  3. I will be picking this up but share pppiquer’s concern regarding Powers

  4. Haha, I love when Bendis makes fun of his own work.
For now on I’m always gonna refer to powers as disgusting.

  5. Makes sense. I’ve felt it’s been way too long since the initial trade. Not personally a big fan of the series, this is good news for comics in general.

  6. Reed Gunther is an all-ages book. Marineman is an all-ages book. What I’ve seen of Takio so far looks like a kids book.
