The Eisner Award winning Daredevil isn’t willing to rest on his laurels. Mark Waid’s consistently delightful treatment of the Man Without Fear continues to up its game with an upcoming installment drawn by Mike Allred, with color by Laura Allred. It’s only for one issue, but we’re pretty sure it’s gonna help the book cast another long shadow on the competition during next year’s award season.

In August’s Daredevil #17, the danger escalates as Matt Murdock takes on one of his most iconic rogues, the towering Stilt-Man! Can Daredevil rise to the occasion, or will he get tripped up by the lanky lawbreaker? Either way, it’s gonna look devilishly pretty.
Now, how’s about that preview?

This. This is why I read comics.
Yes, please!
I know he’s a great but his poses look a little stiff to me. Regardless though I think this fits the tone of what DDs been about lately.
Purdy.
Is this a new design? Or has Stilt Man always looked like the lovechild of Apocalypse and Mr. Freeze?
Have Mercy!
I thought Stilt Man was dead. They had a funeral for him in a seedy bar after the Punisher killed him a few years ago. His casket was REALLY long and I remember laughing at it
Wow! Is it Christmas already?
Lookin’ pretty cool. I like this idea of guest artists and the styles they’re trying here, hey lets have Frank and Klaus do an issue.
The Karl Kessel / Cary Nord Stiltman issue of Daredevil is what got me to like the character in the first place.
One S in Kesel!
excited:)
This is one of the best series out right now IMO.
SAWEEEEET!!!
Just drooled on my laptop.
The dynamic Allred duo are famous for X-Statix, correct? This will be a real treat!
Gene Colan’s covers depicting Stilt-Man vs. Daredevil are some of the most powerful imagery from my youth.
And his late days commissions were incredible:

Allred is no Colan but he’s as awesome in his own way, so I’l really looking forward to reading this.
And for some Stilt-Man history:

mike allred is one of the best artist in my opinion. and ever since mark waid has brought a lighter feel to matt, i’v thought to myself it would be great if an artist like allred came on the book. pop art is what daredevil needs. daredevil is my favorite superhero and the way waid is treating this book makes me one of the happiest dardevil fans in the world. no dis on rivera cause he is doing gangbusters on the book too but i reallt want allred on this book as well. thank you Lord!
Damn, the original solicit said this was going to be a final one-off issue illustrated by Rivera. Guess we’re not going to get anymore DD interiors by him anymore. DAMN.
Allred is always a treat, though.
