This week Conor has the Pick!

Bonus Question: Is there a hypothetical horror movie situation scarier than a zombie outbreak? Is it vampires? Alien invasion? Pre-historic 3-D piranhas?

Comments

  1. Amazing Spider-Man #658, Carnage #4, New Avengers #11, Uncanny X-Force #7, and Uncanny X-Men #535

BQ:  Anything where evil dolls or baby or angel statues come to life (Doctor Who: Blink for example) scares the crap out of me.

  2. BQ: Being forced to watch Twilight.

  3. I would say Flying Sharks but the one in “Doctor Who” was awesome.

  4. I’m getting Ultimate Spiderman and Ultimate Avengers — I’ve been enjoying both (Spidery more than Avengers), but I’m pumped to see this Death of Spider-man arc coalesce into something cool. Also getting Uncanny X-Men thanks to that Point 1 issue and the subsequence discussion on the podcast.

BQ: Definitely zombies. If The Walking Dead is teaching me anything it’s that a zombie outbreak just keeps getting more and more hopeless until everyone’s dead or a zombie.

  5. BQ: sarlacc pit infestation. Slowly digested over 1000 years? From the day you were born most of us wouldn’t even be 5% through that miserable fate…

  6. There is a hardcover Battle Chaser coming out? it’s $100.00, damn!

BQ: I’m gonna have to stick with the zombie outbreak. that is scary on various levels.

  7. I love DC, but man, they have to space out their releases more throughout the month.  Batgirl, Red Robin, Birds of Prey, JL:GL, Flash, and Superman for me this week.

BQ: Anything Uwe Boll directs – ZING!

  8. Flying Monkeys for the reason Josh stated on the podcast many many cookies ago. “I don’t think the sharks would be down with a lot of ceremony.”

  9. Amazing Spiderman….really intrigued by the “classified” issue.
    Uncanny X force
    Generation Lost

BQ: Body Snatching….its hardly used, but if there really was an Alien Invasion of Body Snatchers happening around me. Holy crap that would be scary.

  10. BQ: an Oprah baby. Nothing scarier.

  11. BQ: Any Katherine Heigl romantic comedy.

  12. Also, isn’t Captain America: The Fighting Avenger out this week? I didn’t see it on this list or on previewsworld.com’s list, but it shows up on my Pull List app…

  13. BQ: They Live is about as scary as it gets.

  14. X-Men, Spiderman, X-Force, New Avengers, Thor Omnibus (so happy),SHIELD.

BQ – Aside from not getting my Thor Omnibus I would say a Trump Presidency.

  15. @RobotZombie  You know, I’ve been hearing about Trump taking the steps to eventually run for president, but yesterday was the first time I actually saw an interview with him since I’ve heard this, mostly about his birther beliefs and indeed, a Trump Presidency would be more frightening than a zombie apocalypse.

  16. My pulls?
    Batman And Robin #22
    Birds Of Prey #11
    *Flash #10
    Infinite Vacation #2
    *Justice League Generation Lost #23
    *Punisher Max #12
    Shield Infinity
    T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #6

I marked the ones I am most excited about, but it all looks pretty promising.

BQ: Zombies. Definitely. I occasionally have zombie nightmares.

  17. BQ. Overbearing mothers, you missed that one.

  18. Nice looking week for me!

BQ: A couple a people mentioned the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who, which I’ll agree is pretty damn scary. I watched a film once about an airborne virus that was killing off humanity, no zombies it just made you sick and then you died. The film was awful but the idea is fairly terrifying since we’d all be screwed.

  19. BQ: If a sitcom starring Charlie Sheene was the top-rated scripted show on TV. Oh wait…

  20. If I were to answer the BQ seriously. I’ve always found the idea of a robot uprising to be far scarier than a zombie apocalypse. The idea of Skynet is just creepy. I mean, we already got Watson…

  21. BQ: some of that convention footage from the video podcast looks like a living nerdy hell

  22. 4 books for me, which is just how I like it, being broke as all Hell.

    BQ: Glenn Beck, US President

  23. Some much to chose from this week, so many promising titles.

  24. Clones of Charlies Sheen taking over the world & saying “Winning!” every second, HORROR!

  25. Big week for me!

Batman and Robin, Deadpool, Hellboy: Buster Oakley Gets His Wish, Journey Into Mystery, Punisher MAX, Superboy

BQ: Anything that involves serial killers or mental people. Like Black Christmas….the people who played the guy in the acted did it so well it scared the bejesus out of me.

  26. My only book is Batgirl, which is okay since I have to pick up last week’s comics as well.

BQ: The Child’s Play movies scarred me for life. No creepy living dolls for me, thanks.

  27. @JohnVFerrigno  Now I am going to have nightmares, Thanks a lot.

  28. 11 books?! Que ?
BQ : I keep having this recurring nightmare in such the Jersey Shore look and life style is a result of some airborne pathogen with no cure. We all end up living underground trying to survive attacks from roaming Snookies. The sad thing, I’m not joking.

  29. @boomergirl  I laughed at this and then stopped and shuddered when I actually thought about it….

  30. Ex Machina HC Vol 5!!

    BQ: Legions of spiders. :shudders:

  31. Definitely 10 maybe 12 if I pull the trigger with Hulk and Thor.  Can’t decide.  With hulk though it seems the other, red hulk, comic is the one that gets the acclaim.  I just miss the days when there was just one hulk.  “Hey I have a connection to Banner, so I get to hulk out.”   that connection is as silly as the fact that there are so many speedsters that are related to each other.  But I digress.  I am looking forward to reading Flash to get a better idea as to whether flashpoint will be a train wreck or better than people are predicting.  Also excited about Xmen Legacy.  Age of X has been pretty cool and it’s nice it’s so self contained.

  32. oh and BQ:  either waking up covered in spiders and finding the whole world covered in spiders or waking up to a word in which we can’t afford to see our own doctor when we want because our insurances high deductibles and copays are raping our bank accounts…  oh wait that second one may not be fictional

  33. That is one hell of a great week of comics.  POW will be no easy thing

BQ: Insidious flesh eating disease, every time

  34. BQ: Deadpool Comics

  35. Amazing Spidey #658, New Avengers #11, Ultimate Avengers vs New Ultimates #3, Ultimate Spider-Man #157 and Transformers Rising Storm #3 (For my little brother who’s obsessed with Transformers). To be honest, it’s a good week for me for comics. And BQ: Would have to be Internet being down forever. How would I tweet about comics? How would I be insulted on Facebook? How would I listen to the POTW podcast!?

  36. Uncanny X-men 535, Kitty is one of my all-time favourite characters and I can’t wait for her to actually start doing stuff again.
BQ: A completely normal looking suburb full of perfect families that all together hide some kinda dark secret, be it Cobra or robot wives or the annual sacrifice of virgins

  37. A lot to look forward to this week.  New Batgirl, Uncanny X-Force, Flash, and Black Panther don’t hurt nobody.

BQ: A world without grilled meats and BBQ…

  38. Hugh pull list for me this week.

    Amazing Spider-Man #658
    Batman And Robin #22
    Birds Of Prey #11

    Carnage #4 (OF 5)
    Daken Dark Wolverine #8
    Deadpool #35
    Flash #10

    Journey Into Mystery #622
    Punisher Max #12
    Red Robin #22
    Secret Warriors #26
    Shield Infinity
    Superboy #6
    Uncanny X-Force #7
    Uncanny X-Men #535
    X-Men Legacy #247

BQ: I just saw Human Centipede. I’d rather get attacked by zombies, robots, clowns or zombie robot clowns than turned into a human centipede. Also to anyone who hasn’t watched that movie, don’t becasue it sucks. It’s still not as bad as the Jonah Hex movie I think.

  39. BQ: Rattlesnakes in clown make-up.
