BQ: Here in Texas we have a lot of taquerias (taco shops) and real Mexican restaurants (not Tex-Mex) that serve these huge bowls of caldo (soup). So a piping hot bowl of caldo de res, caldo de pescado, or posole is exactly what I like because it literally makes you feel warmer after you leave.
People keep saying how many books they’re pulling this week. I’m only pulling five. Am I doing something wrong?

18 books this week! Dropping Green Arrow just to lighten the load. May have to think long and hard about dropping Teen Titans, and Secret Avengers Intrigued by both Age of X Alpha, and Magneto, but may need to cut both boos to lighten the load.
Most looking forward to Avengers, Detective Comics, FF, and American Vampire.
Pull list says 22. Daddy says, “Weee’ll see.” Calling a lot of audibles this week; I gots bills ta pay.

@conor I’ve got too much to read as it is. One of the perils of working in a library with a robust trade program is that there’s always something new coming in that I want to find time for.
25+. Whoa. I am going to put my pull list into a tournament bracket and bring the field down to a Sweet Sixteen.
Not much for me this week. Kind of a lame DC week. Lookin forward to Detective.

Right now I’m only pulling 2. Might change when I get to the local shop and a cover or first 2 pages draws me in… have been considering grabbing Zatanna. Anybody following her? Is it worth it? I’d be willing to go pick up the first 8 issues if it’s an engaging story being told.

@doyleclark Zatanna has been awesome. It’s a funny light-hearted read, and somewhat similar to PG (Gray, Palmiotti, Conner run.) I don’t think you need to pick up first 8 issues. I think you’d be ok just picking up the last issue (I believe it was POTW), and this issue, which I believe concludes the story line from issue 7.
@doyleclark Zatanna has been great, I particularly liked the first arc with Stephaneen Roux’s gorgeous art *drool* A new issue of Teen Titans is out this week and the latest arc with the new creative team starting at either 88 or 89 has been fantastic as well. I am loving Damien’s impact on the team.
Most excited for the part 2’s of Dead X-Men & Detective, & the new arc of Scalped.

Around 10 books for me. I am noticing with the exception of Ultimate Spidey, all my Marvel books are $3.99 and all my DC books are $2.99.
BQ: Layers and hot showers. Warm refreshing beverages also help.
Pull is at 11. Zatanna has been a good read.
Even tho #32 is incorrectly listed for this week, I might be the only one left that’s reading all the Deadpool books (even Uncanny X-Force).

BQ: Underground pedways are the best way to keep warm in Chicago wind. Also, extra hot lattes help.
My survival technique has been to get used to it. It happens every year.
I only have 4 books myself. I’m excited most for Incorruptible. Though I am curious who the member of FF kicks the bucket.
Being in Georgia, I stayed in until I had to go out. We don’t get it too often.
Four definite buys for me: ‘Tec, Ultimate Spidey, Cap & JL: Generation Lost. I’m on the fence whether or not to pick up FF. I’m trying not to get caught up in the hype, but might swing by a store tomorrow and grab it.
BQ: Jumping in my taun taun sleeping bag and firing up DC Universe Online on the PS3! Anyone else playing? I’m on The Killing Joke server.

Lordy, been a while since a week this big (yet I looked at Diamond’s list for next week and there’s very little…who organises these things?) Along with all the biggies, I’ll also get that Off Road trade for the Sean Murphy art.

12 books this week. Bigger than normal, but the last few weeks have been a little bit on the light side. I’m dropping New Avengers because I dislike Acuna’s art, but I’m adding Thunderbolts (which has been great the past couple months). Also, picking up my books from last week and the Franken-Castle HC. Yeah, I’m a little bit too excited to read it again.
BQ: Lots of urinating on myself. I may smell, but I’m warm and sterile.

Been cutting back and re-strategizing my picks and focusing on trades. Having said that I’m super stoked for American Vampire, Detective Comics, and Uncanny X-Force, may or may not keep Wonder Woman and might check out the IDW Infested thing.

big week for me(although pretty miniscule compared to the Ifanboys):American Vampire, Detective Comics, New Avengers, Sixth Gun, Skull Kickers and Uncanny X Force. I also have to go pick up northlanders and the last part of the hobgoblin arc in ASM.
BQ: stay under the covers whith a cute brunette and all three seasons of Mr Show and hope it goes away.
I’ve recently had to dramatically and brutally cut down my pull list, partially because of these ridiculously huge weeks that always seem to come at the end of the month when rent is about to be due and I really can’t afford to buy so many comics all at once, especially at four dollars a pop.
So this week all I’m getting is Teen Titans, Zatanna and Uncanny X-Force.
BQ: What cold weather? It’s been sunny and warm here in San Francisco for the last week or so. Just ask Ron. But when it is cold, my best survival tip is to be fat.
@doyleclark Add my name to the pile of Zatanna recommendations. It’s been a lot of fun so far, and refreshing in that you don’t need to read fifty other books along with a weekly comic to make sense of it since it really stands on it’s own. There’s been a few artists so far but none of them have been bad at all. I would suggest picking up this week’s issue and the last issue which are both drawn by Cliff Chiang, then if you like those you can either pick up all the back issues or just get the Zatanna: Mistress of Magic trade which collects the first six issues and will be released in early March so you won’t have long to wait.
I’ve got 5 books this week, looking forward to FF the most.

Australia Day on Wednesday so means no comics until Thursday 🙁 Plus no internet news sites as I’m sure some will spoil Fantastic Four by then.
I was just going to get NY5, Action Comics, and the Jack of Fables trade, but after reading the above comments, I’ll be adding Teen Titans and Zatanna to the list as well.

21 books are not going to be nice to my wallet, but hell at least most of the stuff seems really good. I mean 3 avengers books in one week? WTF?!.

BQ: Check this, I’m a pro when it comes to cold weather. You drive in cold weather? You need a shovel in the back seat, so if your auto gets stuck in the snow- you can dig a path out for the tires. Also, put cat litter in the back seat, pour it on the ice to get traction. Finally, put a six pack of your favorite beer in the trunk just in case the previous two steps fail………
