Possibly lost in the shuffle in this DC filled week was that Marvel confirmed that Neal Adams was in fact the artist on the upcoming New Avengers #16.1. You might recall a few weeks ago when we posted this news after writer Brian Michael Bendis announced it himself on Twitter. No clue has to why we had to wait weeks to have it confirmed, but if they were waiting for the cover to be done, that's a fine reason to me. The cover (below) is classic Neal Adams style. As a huge fan of Adams work, I can't wait to see his take on these modern Marvel characters.
New Avengers #16.1, written by Brian Michael Bendis with the cover and interior art by Neal Adams, goes on sale in September and will cost $2.99.
The one unanswered question still remains, is this book the reason for the delay on Batman: Odyssey?

I really hope we finally get to see Osborn actually freak out and go Green Goblin, glider/costume and all. The Siege/ Dark Reign was such a let down… waited a year for it and when he finally lost it, well it sucked.
Neal Adams back is awesome though – I wish I’d picked up New Avengers from the start instead of Secret Avengers… or regular Avengers. This and Daredevil making his way onto a team is enough for me!
I did also see Bendis claim on Twitter that this would start events leading into next years big summer event!
Neal Adams is so great. One of the “old school” artists who’s work is just as relevant today as it was in the 70s. His style has really stood the test of time. I love how Spider-Man looks in this image. can’t wait for this one!
As long as I get to see characters taking naps in unexpected places, I’m happy.
Neal Adams’ Word Balloon is one of the best episodes. He’s super awesome.
Adams has been doing a lot of variant covers for Marvel lately. I’m sure this issue will look great too. Although I do hope we get some conclusion on Batman: Odyssey.
